Term: Yucca

Also known as Yucca Schidigera Extract or Mojave Yucca. This herb contains a naturally foaming extract (saponin) often found in natural hair, skin care and soap formulas. Also used to help create foam in some liquids. Yucca originates from a shrub that is found in the Southwestern part of the United States. Originally used by Native Americans and California settlers. Yucca is also taken as an herbal supplement and is thought to be helpful for various forms of rheumatoid arthitis & osteoarthritis (please see your primary physician before taking any herbal rememdies). Also thought to provide antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral and antiprotozoal properties. Found in Burt's Bees Lavender Mint Toothpaste.
