Term: Twiggy Hairstyle

The Twiggy hairstyle was originated in 1966 and was created specifically for 17 year old British model Leslie Hornby, who was known as "Twiggy" because of her waifish body which weight around 90 pounds. The Twiggy hairstyle consisted of an ultra short caplike hairstyle that was also known as a "boy cut" because it was so minimalistic. The hairstyle was worn very close to the head in order to redirect focus to the heavily made-up eyes and lips. The hairstyle was featured on the covers of Vogue and other fashion magazines and the super short cut was adopted by stars. Mia Farrow everntually adopted the Twiggy short crop for her famous role in Rosemary's Baby.

If you set your hair on hot rollers, always wait until the rollers have cooled completely before taking them out of your hair.
