Term: Sculpting Sprays

Modern day hair sprays were initially referred to as sculpting sprays. The original sculpting sprays tended to be dispensed in aerosol cans and often left a heavy lacquer finish on hair.

The major hair manufacturers such as Paul Mitchell, Vidal Sassoon and Sebastian all produced sculpting sprays.

Sculpting sprays eventually became known as hair sprays as the technology changed.

The hair sprays designed to replace the original sculpting sprays were often dispensed via pumps rather than aerosol. They also were designed to be much lighter and create a softer effect.

Daily Hair Tip
To combat cowlicks apply pomade or setting gel to the spot & blow dry w/ nozzle aimed downwards. Longer hair helps weigh down cowlicks as will tiny barrettes or clips. Pulling hair into a ponytail or braids will tighten down the cowlick. Experiment until you get results.
