Term: HairDressing

HairDressing is the custom, since ancient times, concerned with the detailed care and dressing of the scalp and scalp hair. HairDressing also pertains with dressing and care of the beard and moustache for men. HairDressing has been practiced by men and women from ancient times to the present. HairDressing has been in existence in every society since virtually the beginning of time. Barbers are hairdressers that specialize in dressing hair for men.

A hairdresser in France is known as a coifferur or coiffeuse and in German is known as a friseur.
