Term: Glycerin

Glycerin is naturally formed during the cold-process soap-making method. Glycerin is a natural humectant (softener and moisturizer) which helps draw and retain moisture into the skin and scalp. It is believed to penetrate hair and skin, softening and swelling it, making it water retentive.
