Essential Fatty Acids (EFA)

Definition  
A fatty acid that is required by the human body that can not in reality be produced by the body. The two types of essential fatty acids are Omega-3 and Omega-6. Both Omega-3 and Omega-6 are obtained from food or from supplements.
