Definition
E. H. Thiellay was a British pharmacist and perfumer who along with hairdresser Leon Hugo of Paris, invented the first hair bleach - peroxide. The hair bleach was advertised in the Parish Exposition in 1867. Thiellay and Hugo were inspired to create the blonding agent due to historical quest by people around the world for artificially creating light colored locks.

Quote
In 1892 the Ladies Home Journal magazine, a very popular title at that time with women, made it very clear that it was considered inappropriate for well-bred women to dye their hair in any way. Isabel Mallon wrote "It almost goes without saying that a well-bred woman does not dye her hair."

Daily Hair Tip
Whenever possible limit or avoid using a brush on curly tresses. Instead use a widetooth pick or comb with "hair friendly" edges that won't rip or tear fragile curls.
