Term: Carrier Oils

The name for the base oil that sould be used to dilute pure essential oils before use. Essential oils are very concentrated and should never be applied directly to the body w/out mixing first with a carrier oil. Carrier oils include, but are not limited to: Almond, Apricot Kernel, Avocado, Coconut, Grapeseed, Olive, Sesame Oil, Vitamin E and Wheat Germ Oil. Essential oils can also be mixed with vegetable oil.

In a Clairol Professional survey 33% of the respondents reported that they preferred to have their hair colored in a salon rather than risk doing damage at home. 50% of the participants said they liked their colorists best because of friendliness while only 38% valued good advice about haircolor or the fact that the colorist kept up on the latest trends.
