Term: Andre Walker

Oprah Winfrey's long time hairstylist and author of Andre Talks Hair. Walker is known for his hair classification system that is used as an abbreviated code for hair fans to talk to each other about their hair. Walker has 4 basic types: Type 1 - straight hair, Type 2 - wavy hair, Type 3 - curly hair and Type 4 - kinky hair. Within the 4 basic hair types Walker has subcategories such as A- fine, B - medium textured and C - coarse. Type 1 & 2 have 3 subcategories while Type 3 & 4 only have 2. In 2010 Walker released his own signature hair care line designed to treat all types of hair.
