A key chemical component of many traditional nail care products and nail polish removers. Considered to be a volatile chemical some nail polish companies have moved to a less toxic alternative. All natural polish and polish removers can be acquired that specifically do not contain acetone. Overexposure to products with a high concentration of acetone can cause a range of symptoms from eye and throat irriations to stomach upsets and rashes. Use should be weighed by pregnant women and their doctors.
