Term: Accelerator
A hair care related product designed to speed up some type of hair process. Accelerators for speeding up hair color processing is a well-known product option.
In the tanning industry an accelerator is a product which works under the surface of the skin and provides the necessary ingredients for melanin production, which will accelerate the rate at which the skin tans. Tanning accelerators are most effective when used after a shower or at least four hours before tanning.
