Term: Diffuser

An attachment that is designed to direct blow-dryer air through a cone shaped filter. Diffusers are designed for drying curly or wavy hair for a natural look. Diffusers may or may not come as part of a blow-dryer kit. Individual diffusers are available that work with a wide range of blow-dryer models.

Diffusers may have small vent knotches for air flow or consist of either hard or soft "fingers". Finger diffusers are designed to lift sections of the hair for more air flow control. Soft finger diffusers allow for closer scalp contact and tighter curls or waves.
