by Tyra Banks, Vanessa Thomas Bush

I must give Tyra Banks a lot of credit. Her new beauty book is beautiful. The cover contains a gorgeous photo of Tyra set in a soft blue background.

I picked the book up at Barnes & Noble which had just stocked it.  I noticed that the book cover claimed an entire section on hair care which included the lowdown on dyes, cuts and styles from hair waves to weaves.  OK, that did it.   My interest was aroused.  I picked the book up off the shelf and flipped through it.

The book is well done in an unusual style of bold color, little sidebar tips and lots of photos of Tyra.  There are over 200 pages of all kinds of great information.   The hair section is titled "Turning Heads" which has hair information for all types of hair.  She has a chart explaining appropriate hair care for Dry, Oily and Normal Hair.  Nothing new...but good information
put together well.

She also has a lot of good information on finding a good stylist.   I think the most interesting part of the hair section is the page on hair weaves (extensions) braids and hair dyes.  Tyra talks about the hot new "hair pomades" for achieving temporary hair color.

I found the book to be very well done.  Lots of great beauty information along with the hair tips.

I would recommend this book if you are always looking for new hair information.  If you are interested in hair weaves (extensions), hair braids or dye, there is some very good information.  The guide is extremely colorful and artistic.

If you like Tyra Banks, you must get this book.  She opens up a lot and shares a lot of personal beauty experiences.  After I finished reading the book I felt like I really knew her better.  If you do decide to buy the book, don't buy it retail like I did.  Buy it through us and  save over retail.

Enjoy.
