Hair Growing SuperFoods!

This Week's 20% Off Code: BACKTOGLAMOUR20

Listed below are some of the top hair growth superhero foods:

Wild Salmon

Wild, not farmed, salmon has a reputation as a hair growth superhero food because of its exceptional Omega-3 fatty acid content and high protein content. Omega-3s have also been known to encourage the development of  shiny, healthy and soft hair. Protein is necessary for the growth of strong, healthy strands.

The rich Omega-3s in salmon provide nourishment to the scalp, roots and hair follicles.

This puts salmon at the top of the list for hair growth superhero foods. Not only does it encourage the growth of healthy hair,  experts believe it also helps slow down and potentially prevent hair loss. A rich supply of proteins is also important for hair growth.

Approximately 4 ounces of salmon contains an estimated 2 grams of Omega-3 fats – more than the average U.S. person gets from all food over the course of several days.

The Omega-3 fat in wild salmon is plentiful in two forms which include EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid).

Besides being great for assisting in the growth of long, beautiful and healthy hair, salmon is thought to provide bioactive peptides which provide protection for joint cartilage health, healthy insulin levels and control of inflammation in the digestive tract. Salmon is also rich in other properties, such as vitamin D and selenium, each of which have their own powerful hair growth superhero food characteristics.

Omega-3 fat is also connected to decreased risk for several types of cancers, including colorectal prostate, and breast.

Regular Omega-3 intake has been proven particularly effective against the blood cell or lymph cell-related cancers such as leukemia, multiple myeloma, and non-Hodgkins lymphoma. The Omega-3 fatty acids in this fish can also help to ward off the hunger pangs which many people struggle with in their daily diets.

Nut Butters

Nuts and nut butters contain high levels of protein which is great for growing healthy hair. They also contain selenium and Omega-3 fatty acids that improve scalp health.

One cup of Brazil nuts contains 19.05 g of protein and 2,549.6 mg of selenium, as reported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Nuts with Omega-3 fatty acids include butternuts, hickory nuts, peanuts and macadamia nuts.

Peanut Butter

In addition to high levels of protein, peanut butter also contains zinc. Zinc promotes the hair growth and repair and normalizes the production of oil around the hair follicles.

Diets deficient in zinc lead to hair loss, reducing the overall thickness of your hair. Add peanut butter to celery sticks, apple slices or whole-grain bread for a healthful snack that improves your hair’s health.

These spreads could curb your carvings. People who eat peanut butter lessen their desire for sugary treats for up to three hours, according to a report in the International Journal of Obesity. Bananas and peanut putter make a tasty combination.

Make a smoothie with a spoonful of your favorite nut butter.

Lentils

These legumes help amp up iron in your body. They also help steady your energy levels which can be key in helping provide necessary flow to the scalp and hair roots assisting in the development of healthy strands.

Summary – Hair Growth Superhero Foods

Other foods which are considered hair growth superhero foods include all types of seaweed, dairy products and an array of spices. Not all foods work equally well for everyone. Find a few of the hair growth superhero foods and try them for your own hair.
