Any time you come in contact with hair or beauty chemicals you are putting your body into a potential toxic situation.

Chemical hair treatments such as bleach, hair dyes, relaxer, straighteners, Brazilian and/or Keratin smoothing treatments, skin and nail treatments all have the potential to produce strong fumes and a variety of side effects.

Side effects might range from headaches, blurred sight, rashes or difficulty breathing. Of course it’s always critical to do a small test 24-48 hours before undergoing any type of chemical hair treatment to prevent the possibility of a life threatening allergic reaction which may happen in extreme cases.

The good news is that if you want to undergo chemical hair or beauty treatments there are a list of actions you can take to minimize the barrage of toxins to your immune system.

List Of Best Detox Tips For Chemical Hair Or Beauty Treatments

The best detox tips for chemical hair or beauty treatments include the following listed below:

1.  Get plenty of fresh air and ventilation before, during and after any chemical hair or beauty treatments.

2.  Amp up your daily doses of antioxidant vitamins, herbs and minerals to strengthen your immune system.

4.  Take a detox bath with Brown Rice Vinegar, Epson Salts, Rice Wine or Hot Springs after the chemical treatments to encourage accelerated toxin removal from your system.

5.  Always wear protective masks, gloves and/or eye goggles if you suffer from lung challenges.

6.  Do your research to make sure that the chemical hair or beauty treatments cannot cause permanent health concerns.

Only Do Chemical Hair Or Beauty Treatments In Well-Ventilated Areas

When exposing yourself to hair and/or beauty chemicals or toxins, be sure you receive or give treatments in well-ventilated areas. If possible give or receive the treatments outside for the very best protection.

If you can’t receive the chemical treatments in a well-ventilated area consider covering your nose and mouth with a cool wash cloth or a moist towel to minimize the toxins you inhale.

For extra measure if you have lung problems such as asthmatic conditions, bronchitis, obstructive pulmonary diseases or similar you may wish to use a mask available from a local drugstore. A mask can help minimize inhalation of fumes and small particles from the chemicals.

If you are applying the toxic treatments yourself or to someone else be sure to wear gloves and keep your skin protected. If the fumes are especially strong consider wearing goggles to care for delicate eye tissues.

Load Up On Antioxidents, Vitamins, Herbs And Minerals  Vitamins

Vitamins C, E and Beta Carotene combat free radicals in the body which occur naturally or from external toxins and pollution.

Free radicals can eventually lead to a range of health challenges ranging from heart diseases, cancerous tissues and accelerated aging. Suggested daily consumption of Vitamin C is approximately 2,000 milligrams unless dealing with a cold, flu or other ailments which are known to respond to increased levels of Vitamin C.

Take approximately 400 I.U of Vitamin E and 25,000 I.U. of Beta Carotene to help shore up the body against the hair and beauty toxins which have been introduced from treatments.

Loading up on healthy foods known to strengthen the body and dispel free radical damages is an additional method for fighting toxins.

When possible have hair or beauty treatments that are created from low toxin or non-toxic formulations.

Stay Hydrated – Detox Tips For Chemical Hair Or Beauty Treatments

Drink at least eight large glasses of pure water on days right before, during and after exposure to all hair and beauty chemicals.

For extra measure you may wish to drink some dandelion detox tea blends found in the local health food store or add some of the dandelion herbs to your daily supplement list.

Take A Detox Bath

Beauty SleepBodywork, especially lymphatic drainage or deep tissue massage combined with a detox bath will help speed the elimination of toxins and waste products through your system after toxic hair and beauty treatments. Exercise, yoga and aromatherapy will also provide detoxification benefits.

Although Epson Salt baths are excellent detox options, there are a few other detox bath formulas which are known to help with detoxing the skin and body.

These include the Brown Rice Vinegar Bath, Rice Wine or Hot Springs baths.

Brown Rice Vinegar Bath

This eliminate toxins and waste products as well as helping to prevent or treat sore muscles. The Brown Rice Vinegar acts to neutralize lactic acids which make muscles sore. The bath soothes your muscles and stimulates the entire circulatory system.

The increased circulation helps to speed any toxins out of your body as quickly as possible.

Wash off in the shower first and then soak in a hot bath for 15-20 minutes to which you’ve added  2 cups of Brown Rice Vinegar Bath. At the end of your soak time rinse off and then towel blot.

Rice Wine Bath

Wash off in the shower first and then soak in a hot bath for 15-30 minutes  to which you’ve added  2 quarts of rice wine. Soak for as long as you like and then rinse off at the end of the bath.

Don’t be surprised if the bath water is dirty after you’ve soaked the full time. It proves how detoxifying the rice wine is for the skin. This bath can be used on all skin types but should only be used once a week.

Hot Springs Bath

Make your own hot springs at home. Wash off in the shower first and then soak in a hot bath for Bath Tub 15-20 minutes to which you’ve added  3 tablespoons of baking soda. Soak for 30 minutes.

Do not rinse at the end since the baking soda will provide long lasting results including improved circulation, softer skin and enhanced relaxation.

Essential Oil Detox Bath

If you wish, you can also try an essential oil detox bath.

Take a shower first. Combine 3 drops of Marjoram with 2 drops of lemon essential oil and put into a hot bath. Soak 15-30 minutes. Do not rinse after the bath.

When In Doubt Wear Protection

Whether you’re receiving a potentially toxic hair or beauty treatment or giving one to a friend, loved one or client, take extra care of your lungs, skin and eyes.

This is especially true if you have a history of any type of lung challenges such as bronchitis, asthmatic conditions or COPD.

Don’t be embarrassed to ask for a mask if you have the treatment done in a salon.

Explain your current health and lung conditions to your hairstylist. If they are unwilling to accommodate you and take every measure to care for your health you should be worried. All reputable stylists strive to care for the long term health and safety of their clients.

Do Your Research
