Hair buns never go out of style. In fact, they continue to evolve. The undone side knot is one of the latest innovations in the world of hair buns.

Hair buns consisting of an undone side knot can be worn for just about any hair occasion from everyday to a special night out.

The gorgeous hair buns consisting of an undone side knot are the perfect complement for any type of fashion from leather, fur and sequins to knits and jeans. They can range from soft texture femininity to strong edgy silhouettes.

The undone side knot works on just about every type of hair texture from stick straight to naturally textured. The side knot can be positioned in a variety of positions.

If your own hair isn’t long enough to wrap into a chic low side knot you can create the look with fusion, tape or clip-in extensions.

The great thing about the undone side knot hair buns is that they are avant garde. There are no right or wrong ways to create the undone side knot of your dreams.

How-To Steps:

Listed below are steps for creating hair buns – undone side knot:

If your hair is chemically treated, damaged, colored or requires special care, consider cleansing with a Diluted shampoo (DS), Conditioner Only Wash (CoWash), Low-Poo, No-Poo or other special formula.

2.  After cleansing, rinse well. Use fingers to gently squeeze excess water out of hair working from the roots to the ends.

3.  Apply a rinse out conditioner to hair from middle of the strands to the ends.

4.  Use fingers or a wide tooth comb and detangle hair from ends to the roots.

5.  After hair is detangled rinse well with a cool or cold water rinse.

6.  Towel blot to remove excess water.

7.  Apply styling cocktail which may include, but not limited to, a leave-in conditionerdefrisant, styling cream or mousse.

8.  Use a tail comb, create a deep side part before prepping damp hair with TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Root Boosting Spray.

Distribute throughout hair from roots to ends using fingers and/or a wide tooth comb. Be sure to layer the TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Root Boosting Spray to create a natural, rough texture.

9.  Diffuse hair on high heat with a long finger diffuser attached to a blowdryer.

As you dry your hair be sure to work through individual sections reapplying the TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Root Boosting Spray as needed.

10.  Once hair is 100% dry, apply a dime size amount of TRESemmé smooth & Silky Anti-Frizz Secret Crème throughout hair to give definition.

11.  Gather hair into a loose pony on one side, fasten elastic midway down the pony, leaving the heavier side of the face-framing part loose and undone.

Note:  There’s no right or wrong location for the base of the bun. Position it to one side or even closer to the middle of the back of your head if preferred.

12. Twist hair into a messy side  bun, fastening with bobby pins and open hair pins as you go. To

add additional texture back brush or back comb target sections of hair.

13. Loosely gather pieces of hair from the heavier side of the part and randomly pin into the bun.

14. To finish, lightly spritz with TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Finishing Spray. This will provide hold as well as add a great shimmer.

Hair buns never go out of style. The beauty of the undone side knot is that there are no rules for how they are created. Use your imagination and have fun.
