Name That Celebrity!

It warms my heart to see that, despite the only reward for correctly guessing the mystery celebrity was getting your name in the column, I received over 100 entries.  The downside was that, as usual, I made it WAY too easy.  For those that didn't get it, the mystery celebrity getting the early '80s Teen Beat makeover was...

Mystery Celebrity: COURTENEY COX

As I promised last time, recognition goes to the very first person to get it right who was...

Ayeen Azrul!

Ayeen, who visited all the way from Malaysia, was the first, but by no means the last.  I figured it was only fair to recognize the first ten folks who guessed correctly since everyone sees the column at different times and thus makes it tougher to be first...especially when I make it so easy. J So, the next nine, in order, were: Beatrice Benedict, Margaret Nasti, Bcatc19, Kara, Anita Jamar, Margo Hackel, KellyAnn Hagendoorn, and Becky Sellin.

Good guessing by all who sent entries, either right or wrong (I can see a bit of Jennifer Jason Leigh and Demi Moore in those pics, can't you?), and thanks for participating.

Now, on to this month, which I finally think will pose a little bit of a challenge for the first time in a while. As usual, I give you either a picture of a celebrity from early in their life or career with some completely different look or I disguise a current picture.  You then have to tell me who the celebrity in question is.  Simple enough?  Of course.

So, tell me, who is the star shown in this early, candid, black and white photo?

As usual, THE FIRST PERSON to send me the correct answer gets a hearty virtual handshake and pat on the back...and their name featured in the next column.  The next nine just get their name in the column.  Sure, it's a subtle difference, but those yellow letters don't come cheap.  Good Luck!

Did Ya Know?

If you have wondered to yourself, as I have, why COURTNEY COX lately seems to just be letting her hair grow with no particular style in mind and why it usually seems "undone" even when she is at various events, I may have some answers for you.

First, that she's managed to let her hair grow this long means that she's winning the battle with her hairstylist.  Courteney much prefers herself with long hair, as she made clear in an interview with InStyle:

I love the way short hair looks on some women.  Winona Ryder looks angelic-she's got such a gorgeous face.  But I don't feel sexy with short hair.  Maybe becaue I look back at the tomboy girl in the Bruce Springsteen video.

Chris McMillan, who cuts my hair, is always saying that he wants to cut it short like Mia Farrow's in "Rosemary's Baby".  I can't see it.

I agree with Courtney's call on the super short style (though some her her not-so-short short styles have been kinda cute).  By the way, that seems to also explains why Courtney would periodically show up with a much shorter style, only to IMMEDIATELY begin to grow it back out.

Second, her style, or rather lack thereof is a result of the fact that Courtney has become very anti-glamour in the last few years.  She only puts up with the regular manicures and haircuts for the requirements of the show and much prefers to just throw her hair up in a ponytail.  She doesn't even like to blow-dry her hair unless she has to now.  Kinda hard to picture Monica as the casual, non-appearance conscious sort, isn't it?

Fortunately for us fans, when she DOES decide to try, she certainly cleans up nicely, doesn't she? J

Oh, and by the way, congrats to Courteney and David Arquette on their recent nuptials.  Kinda gives you single guys hope if Deputy Dewey was able to pull that off, huh?

As usual,

JerkyFlea
