Known as corn sugar gum. Often used as a thickening agent in hair and beauty related products. Used also as a stabilizer and an emulsifier. Not considered to be toxic for use in humans.
Embeth Davidtz was discovered by Steven Spielberg while decked out in a huge bouffant hairdo for a TV film. Davidtz comments "I'm grateful he got past that hair"
