Definition  
The hair bulb actually looks like a flower bulb when magnified. The hair bulb is located at the bottom of a strand of hair. It is the portion of the hair follicle which actively produces hair. All hair, regardless of the species, and regardless of location on the body, grow out of follicles much like this one. The hair bulb is located at the lower extremity of the hair.
