Hollywood’s Most Expensive Engagement Rings

Hollywood’s Most Expensive Engagement Rings

Beyonce recently announced her pregnancy at the 2011 VMA’s by unbuttoning her jacket and flashing her baby bump. The pop star is used to flashing her treasures. When she got engaged to celebrity rapper Jay-Z she was flashing something else, her 18-carat flawless diamond sparkler which reportedly is valued at $5 million.

Although Kim Kardashian’s $2 million dollar engagement ring weighs in at 20.5 carats, it doesn’t hold a candle to Beyonce’s stunner.

Of course Beyonce is married to a rapper supposedly worth $940 million dollars or more. Being such a high profile rapper, Jay-Z was required to show up all the competition by popping for one of the most expensive engagement rings in the Hollywood set.

Jada Pinkett Smith’s engagement ring which she received from hubby Will Smith weighed in around 12 carats although it’s value isn’t well-known.

Other big Hollywood sparklers?

1. Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis – Her 40-carat diamond ring from Aristotle Onassis auctioned for 2.6 Million dollars in 1996 made it one of the most expensive engagement rings in history. Just imagine what it would be worth in 2011. (more…)

Introduction – Snooki Is A Hair Accessory Goddess

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is famous for her sass, love of outrageous style and her status as a hair accessory goddess.

Recently Snooki decided to dump her famous fuller figure and go for a more streamlined version.  The 4 foot 9 inch star has had some big wins in her weight loss war and is now wearing a size 4.

She’s not finished though.  She plans to continue working out and losing weight until she can “get to where I was when I was a cheerleader in high school.”

The 23 year old Jersey Shore cutie loves fashions and triggered a hair bump craze when she first hit the reality TV scene.  Although Snookie has long dropped her hair bump, she still rocks long lush extensions and works hair to be a hair accessory goddess.

The beauty knows how to accessorize with a wide range of hair accessories which have earned her the reputation as a hair accessory goddess.

She loves headbands which are co-ordinated with her dress, shoes, belt and earrings.  Snooki alternates between big wide statement headbands and skinny headbands.  She also sometimes wears hair clips and barrettes. (more…)

How To Find True Bargains When Shopping For Clothes

As the economy remains tight and unemployment is still double digit, many shoppers are cutting corners at their favorite department stores in favor of sales racks.

In such financially lean times,it’s no wonder everyone loves to talk about that “great deal” they got while shopping.

But are sales racks really that great of a deal or is it just a way to get consumers to spend their hard earned dollars without understanding what they’re really getting?

According to Janet Wood, style expert and founder of Fashion Fit Formula, “a sale is a retail store’s way of flirting with you. They are saying to you, ‘come into the store and see the bargains!’ It is a very temping thing to do, especially when you are trying to supplement your wardrobe.” (more…)

Did Lady Gaga Copy Her Nude Bodysuit From Jane Fonda?

Tuesday, July 19th, 2011

Singer Bette Midler has been in the news lately for attacking Lady Gaga for copying what she claims is her mermaid in a wheelchair act.

The reality?  A lot of entertainers get inspiration from those who have gone before them.

The Celebrity Nude Bodysuit

Case in point?  The nude bodysuit which was first worn by a sexy Jane Fonda in 1968 in Barbarella complete with sizzling hot silver boots.  Two years later in 1970 Diana Ross rocked a crazy bodysuit.  While other stars and celebs flaunted their own versions over the years, Britney Spears brought back the look in 2000.

Britney’s Take On Nude Bodysuits

When Britney wore her version of the nude bodysuit many forgot that Jane Fonda has introduced it 32 years prior.  For her 2004 Onyx Hotel Tour appeared on stage wearing a white robe while she performed “Touch of My Hand” in a transparent bathtub.  During the performance she took the robe off to reveal a nude body suit with crystals which resembled her famous “Toxic” music video outfit.

For her 2011 Femme Fatale Tour Britney is again resurrecting her famous nude bodysuit.  Femme Fatale Tour costume designer Zaldy Goco told Extra that Britney was wearing a nude bodysuit as well as a “Toxic”-inspired catsuit. (more…)

Summer Bathing Suits Wear And Tear Tips

A few weeks in the surf and sand, and your favorite swim suit just isn’t holding up as well as it did at the beginning of the summer. The foam pads in the top have become misshapen and out of place.

Braza, the company that makes solutions for lingerie and clothing emergencies, provides a solution for swimwear, called Swim Shapers – which also add lift and cleavage. Swim Shapers are available in either covered foam or silicon and in a variety of sizes and shapes to fit different swimsuit styles and to provide different cleavage-bearing options.

Swim Shapers are the perfect alternative to the cheap foam pads that come in swimsuits that usually get crumbled up or fall out.   The Swim Shapers are available at BrazaBra.com and a variety of local retailers.

Birkenstock Sandals Offer Cool Foot Fashions

Birkenstock Sandals Offer Cool Foot Fashions

With the hot sizzling summer temperatures sweeping the nation flip flops and sandals are the coolest foot fashions.  Hot sweaty feet and toes welcome the open shoe fashions.

One sandal which is continuing to gain in popularity is the Birkenstock which has a long and interesting history.  The Birkenstock brand traces its roots to a German by the name of Johann Adam Birkenstock.  Birkenstock was registered in 1774 as a shoemaker in local church archives.

In 1897  Johann’s grandson, Konrad Birkenstock developed the first contoured insole to be used by shoemakers in the production of custom footwear. 1902 saw another first in shoe making by Konrad when he developed the first flexible arch support to be inserted in factory-made shoes.

In 1964, these inserts were developed further into a shoe by Karl Birkenstock, and what would become the current Birkenstock sandal was created. American Margo Fraser discovered Birkenstock sandals while on a holiday in Germany.  The famous footwear helped her with a foot condition.

Fraser founded a trading company called Birkenstock Footprint Sandals, Inc., in California.  The company was renamed Birkenstock Distribution USA, Inc., in 2005.   Birkenstocks are thought by many to help improve foot health and skeletal alignment.

I have been long acquainted with Birkenstocks which are very popular with professionals who work on their feet due to their reputation as providing excellent support.   (more…)
