Melissa McCarthy Was Regal In Purple On First Emmy Red Carpet

The adorable actress Melisa McCarthy was interviewed on the Red Carpet at the 2011 Emmy Awards tonight.

When she was congratulated on her work in Mike & Molly and her first Emmy Nomination for her role as Molly she said "it's a big, big nomination."  She looked pretty with her light brown hair brushed to one side off a side part.

She was wearing a long form fitting rich purple gown with long sleeves and a V neck which she designed herself.

Melissa said about her Emmy nomination "It's fantastic.  I get to go to work every day to a job I love with people I love.  To get this on top of that is a little crazy, almost like too much of a great thing."

The star said her past experiences with the Emmy Awards was limited to watching them at home via Tivo.  In fact, she said that last year she had a tiny baby at home and had to Tivo the awards and watch them later.

All of her past experiences with Emmy Awards were limited to watching at home.

When asked what she thought about being at the Emmy Awards live for the first time she said "It did not look anything like this (at home)"  She got very excited and said "It's crazy, it's like all the people, there's so much to look at.  There's so many beautiful dresses."
