As reported by CBS News, a terrified 7 year old boy and his 6-year-old sister in Norwalk, California hid in the bathroom of their family home on Tuesday, March 10th, while his parents were being threatened at gunpoint by robbers in their home. The frightened boy called 911 and begged them to please "bring cops. A lot of them!...And soldiers, too."
The 911 dispatcher, Monique Patino, told CBS station KCAL that she thought of her own children during the ordeal. "You could hear the fear in the kid's voices," she said.
When the home robbers finally discovered the boy and his sister hiding in the bathroom they realized the boy had called 911 and immediately fled as a result without taking anything or harming anyone. The three men remain at large.
This is such an inspirational story because luckily the parents educated their children what to do in case of a similar situation. The 7-year old boy had the presence of mind to know exactly what to do, which ultimately probably saved the life of all of the members of his family.
