Selena Gomez’ Hairstyle At 2009 AMA Awards – Steal Her Style

Last updated on February 13th, 2015 by Karen Marie Shelton

Disney beauty Selena Gomez looked adorable in a gathered sequined silver hued mini dress that glimmered against the light on the Red Carpet.  The mass of sequins caught the light during the actual AMA ceremony when she glided onto the stage presenting an award.

The silver hue of her gown was a perfect contrast to her dark hair and peaches and cream complexion.

The short sassy belted dress was designed by Talbot Runhof although the 17-year-old Wizards Of Waverly Place confessed on the Red Carpet she didn’t know how to pronounce the name of the label.

Selena’s Hairstyle

The cutie wore her silky and shiny raven black tresses with a side part and a pulled back, side-swept off-the-forehead fringe which cascaded into a gorgeous curly, sexy, tousled hairdo which extended just past her chin.

Soft curls were added from the top of the ear to the ends to showcase her precision cut longer layers and achieve a perfectly balanced finish.  Selena’s hairstyle can be easily re-created with medium sized hot rollers, a wet set or a medium barrel curling iron.

How To Instantly Recreate Selena Gomez’s AMA Hairstyle

If you love Selena’s hairstyle and want to re-create it but don’t have the patience to wash, blow dry, hot roll or hot iron you have the option to instantly recreate her hairstyle by utilizing a clip-in HairDo Hair Extension from the Ken Paves/Jessica Simpson line.

You have the option to clip-in either a 100% human hair extension that is the same length as Selena’s or you can go with a pre-curled synthetic version in a wide range of colors.  You can match the clip-in to your own fringe and hairline hair hues.

Simply pull your hair back and pin into one or more tight twists which are flat to your scalp and then clip in the hair extension.  Arrange the newly applied extension with your fingers and finish styling your fringe and hairline hair to blend into the extension piece.

Use a tiny bit of shine spray or serum and brush lightly over the top of your hairline hair and finish with a light spritz of hairspray.  Viola, you have Selena’s hairstyle.

Selena’s Fashions

Selena finished her sparkly short gown with a pair of black sassy strappy sandals, showing off her perfect golden pedicure.  Selena carried a glittering, dainty clutch.

Selena in an unrelated comment took time to rave about John Mayer’s newest album, “Battle Studies,” said she was excited to see Rihanna onstage at the AMAs.

The teen star told Talk Show Maven Bonnie Hunt on a pre-recorded interview for her talk show that she is not a fan of Twilight and she doesn’t watch the series.  She told Bonnie in the tape “I don’t watch them. Sorry, I feel bad… even though I am a teenager.”

Selena  announced at the AMAs that she and her band, the Scene, are ready to unveil the next single, Naturally, from their debut album ‘Kiss & Tell’ released on September 29. The star told MTV News that they have a video for the song coming out shortly too.

Selena’s album which also features first single “Falling Down,” wasn’t entirely penned by Selena, but she said she was very picky about the songs she chose. “I wanted to make sure, A) I can relate to it, and B) my fans can relate to it, and it’s something that I went through,” she explained.”
