Hairstyle News - First Blow Dry Bar Opens In Seattle With Swink Style Bar

Swink Style Bar - Seattle's First Blow Dry Bar Opens Today

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Seattle's bad hair days are a thing of the past. Twitter, Seattle's first "blow dry bar" opened recently at 611 Stewart Street downtown. No muss, no fuss, no cuts, no color, Swink specializes in 30-minute blow-outs for $30 and offers a menu of styles to choose from.

Blow dry salons are already popular in London, New York and Vancouver B.C. With the wet weather and active lifestyles, co-owners Natalie Angelillo and Jacquie Byrne believe Seattle is poised for Swink. "We're busy moms who envisioned a place to drop in after the gym or on the way to a meeting, sit for 30 minutes, and walk out looking fabulous," said Angelillo.

Swink's menu offers eight styles -- from The Fifth Avenue - flat-ironed, clean lines to the Girly & Tousled - an artfully messy coif. Swink also offers a makeup bar and lash lounge. Clients choose from a variety of makeup looks; then an artist transforms them to reflect the confidence of the Boardroom or a lively glow for opening night. Clients walk away with their own set of tips and tricks taught by the experts.

Both Angelillo and Byrne are seasoned business professionals, each having served as CEOs, marketing consultants and retail specialists for companies such as Starbucks, Nordstrom, Getty Images and various startups. They teamed with expert stylists Melanie Wade and Randy Evans and renowned, local make up artist Suresh Seneviratne, to create the looks and train Swink's staff.
