Miss America 2009 Katie Stam - USA World Swimming Championship Trials

Miss America 2009 Katie Stam attended the USA World Swimming Championship Trials in Indiana this weekend.

Katie started off the day working with the Make a Splash program, where she spoke to 200 kids about how much she enjoys swimming and being Miss America.

She then joined a group of championship swimmers in an autograph session for adoring fans.

Later that day Katie sang the National Anthem at the Trials and had the honor of presenting the medals to the winners of the final race.

Katie enjoyed catching up with 2009 Miss America pageant judge, Cullen Jones, who broke a USA record earlier in the day.

Katie also had the opportunity to meet Olympic swimmer, Michael Phelps, who set a new world record that day!

Daily Hair Tip
To combat cowlicks apply pomade or setting gel to the spot & blow dry w/ nozzle aimed downwards. Longer hair helps weigh down cowlicks as will tiny barrettes or clips. Pulling hair into a ponytail or braids will tighten down the cowlick. Experiment until you get results.
