Handcrafted Decorative Hardware Will Enhance Beauty of Your Home

Handcrafted Decorative Hardware Will Enhance the Beauty of Your Home

As recently reported via PR Web - handcrafted items are something that's a bit of a rarity these days.

Because of expeditious technology, machines can mass produce items based on a mold, and thus, handmade products have become something of a lost art.

These days, most houses that are erected are generic models in a mold that most architectural enthusiasts refer to as "McHomes." But these are the times that we live in and therefore, the most must be made of what we have available to us.

Luckily, thanks to sites like www.DecorativeHardware4U.com, it doesn't take much outside of an internet connection and a good imagination to make a simple improvement to your home.

In August 2007, Jim Tschida and Nicholas Gerten partnered up and started DecorativeHardware4U.com, a website that specializes in beautifully made handcrafted iron wrought door hardware.

Individually Hand Wrought

They're not from molds or forms. This makes each piece unique. They're mostly hand forged with a hammer and an anvil using traditional blacksmithing techniques. Every piece becomes a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

We will continue to look for great new products that our customers will appreciate. There's a gentleman who makes decorative iron gate hardware and iron art.

That's just one of the ideas we have.   We want to increase the variety of products we have, but continue to maintain the highest quality. The site is always going to be improving.

"They're individually hand wrought," said Tschida. "They're not from molds or forms. This makes each piece unique. They're mostly hand forged with a hammer and an anvil using traditional blacksmithing techniques. Every piece becomes a one-of-a-kind masterpiece."

All of Decorative Hardware 4 U's products - which also includes cabinet knobs and pulls, bathroom hardware, switchplate covers, among other items - are locally made by the best blacksmiths in its native Montana. As the site continues to gain traction, Tschida is insistent that there will be new items, which will also be from local sources.

"We will continue to look for great new products that our customers will appreciate. There's a gentleman who makes decorative iron gate hardware and iron art. That's just one of the ideas we have," explained Tschida. "We want to increase the variety of products we have, but continue to maintain the highest quality. The site is always going to be improving."

Another new improvement that the site currently boasts is a corresponding informational blog, located at:  www.DecorativeHardwareInfo.com. The blog has tips on using the items that Tschida and Gerten sell through their online store, as well as testimonials and anecdotes from guest contributors.

Though the tides have turned and more homes are being made to fit a certain carbon copy aesthetic, resources like DecorativeHardware4U.com exist so that people can add something unique to their home, something that is handcrafted and a reflection of an American art lost to the hands of time.
