Bachelor Jason Mesnick Still In Love With Molly

ABC's The Bachelor was a two hour special event tonight. First the show started in New Zealand with Jason, his son Ty, his family and the two remaining Bachelorettes, Melissa and Molly. After both Bachelorettes met Ty and Jason's family, they had romantic times with Jason to proclaim their feelings before the final rose.

As Jason tweeted on Twitter, a gorgeous diamond ring "courtesy of Neil Lane" was selected and The Final Rose ceremony took place with all the pomp and circumstance Bachelor fans are used to. There was Jason Mesnick standing overlooking the gorgeous New Zealand coastline and the ocean. It was truly a beautiful setting.

Jason told Molly goodbye and told Melissa she was the one, proposed to her and gave her the gorgeous diamond right. Ahhhhh. The perfect ending to weeks of Rose Ceremonies.

After the first hour the second hour was the traditional After The Final Rose Ceremony which traditionally has the newly engaged couple in front of an audience where they gush over their happiness. Usually the bachelorette not selected gets her shot at confronting the bachelor about why he didn't pick her.

Not this year. Not this season. Not Jason and Melissa. Nope.

Instead, the After The Final Rose ceremony started with Jason and Chris Harrison having a heartfelt chat where Jason confessed his feelings for Melissa had changed and he was going to break up with her in the next few minutes. Say what? Yes indeed, that's what Jason said. And that is exactly what he did.

After breaking up with Melissa and telling her it was because he still had feelings for Molly, Melissa leaves in tears and has her final words in the limo as she goes off into the sunset.

Jason again chats with Chris Harrison and Chris says that Molly had no idea what was going on with Melissa or that jason had changed his mind and wanted a second chance with Molly. He told Jason they would chat with Molly after he first talked with her.

Molly comes out to chat with Chris Harrison without Jason. Chris basically asks Molly how she was doing since Jason selected Melissa over her and she explains she has lots of unanswered questions she wants resolved. She talks about the fabulous last day and evening she spent with Jason and how shocked she was after that great experience he told her he had stronger feelings for Melissa.

Jason comes out onto the stage with Molly and Chris Harrison and proceeds to hug Molly. They say they have not seen each other ot talked since New Zealand.

Molly proceeded to ask Jason why he had selected Melissa after the incredible day and night they had together. Jason told Molly how torn up he was when he had to say goodbye to her and that he was crying so much he couldn't get his breath.

Jason then told a shocked Molly that Melissa had been out on the stage earlier and "I ended things with her because I haven't been able to stop thinking about you." He said "my heart hasn't let go, my head hasn't let go, my gut hasn't let go." He said he had to "say goodbye" to Melissa because "my heart is somewhere else."

Jason said "I was wrong. So much of what I was looking for was right in front of my face (meaning Molly)." Then he said "I think the most insincere thing I could do would be to jump real fast from one thing to another, but I was hoping we could have a shot." Then he paused awkwardly. He said "you know, maybe we could see how it goes, maybe we could go for coffee and a drink and see" what develops.

Molly appeared to be in shock but she was laughing and happy and she and Jason kissed a few times.

Chris said he couldn't think of any way to end After The Final Rose and pointed out it was a historic show because it was the first time a bachelor changed his mind from one bachelorette to the other. And that was the end of the show.
