A Squirrel Is Just A Rat With A Cooler Outfit

Whether I have a form of ADD or am just obsessed with maximum multi-tasking, I never seem to focus my entire attention on one thing at a time.  Which can be a good/bad thing depending on a variety of factors.

Such is the case with Sex And The City (SATC).  Not the movie but the series.  When I recently joined the thongs pouring into the theaters (a few months ago) for the much anticipated movie, I realized I couldn't remember a lot of the individaul episodes from the SATC series which lasted for 6 1/2 seasons.

I promised myself I would stop, go back and watch all of the SATC episodes from beginning to end.  With that ambitious quest in mind I recently stopped by a half price video store in North Texas and hit the DVD lottery.  They happened to be having a big sale and I was able to score seasons 1,3,4,5 and 6 for more than 60% off the original price of each season.  I already had Season 2 of SATC which I received as a past Christmas gift from my best friend Jeff Hines.

When I told Jeff of my quest to go back in time and recapture all the SATC episodes, he sprung for the last season (6 1/2) as his contribution for my marathon viewing (thanks Jeff).

Once I had the entire collection of all SATC seasons in place, I started watching.  This time I actually watched each episode rather than just listening or using the TV speeder to fast forward through parts I didn't like.

I have currently watched all of Season 1, 2, 3 and the first 7 episodes of Season 4 of SATC.  I forget how much I loved seasons 1 and 2 and how I didn't much like 3.  I also loved season 4 which I am currently watching.

The good news? My marathon Sex And The City watching has reminded me why I loved the series in the first place.  I have also been reminded of all the cool and funny hair related references sprinkled liberally throughout each episode.  Of course there are tons of great fashion references as well, the squirrel reference aside.

Which brings me to the title of this post.  In Season 4, the second disk, Carrie goes to the coutry with Aidan and screams when she encounters a squirrel.  Not unusual for the great outdoors but definitely not common for Carrie.  After freaking out about the squirrel Carrie tells Aidan that it's just a rat with a cooler outfit.  Another famous fashion reference which is hilarious.

Why am I re-watching all of SATC?  I guess it's because I wanted a do-over.  Or maybe with all the bad economic news I wanted a fun and healthy way to escape.  It could also be my obsession with remembering all the hair related references in the episodes.  Of maybe all of the above.

Whatever the reason?  I am in for the long SATC watching haul and will report back when I have successfully watched all of the episodes.
