Wet Hair Looks Back On Catwalks At New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week is in full swing and swarms of models are prancing down the runways in an array of designer duds.

The wet hair looks from past seasons, specifically Spring 2011, are back on center stage.  Slicked back hair lacquered into place with countless tubes of hair gel were the look of the day at today's BCBG Max Azria show.

Whether the fashions are minimalistic or paired with bursts of color, the slicked back look of wet hair is reminiscent of that sported by Helmut Lang from the 1990s.  The wet look hair was combined with minimal makeup with a bit of a hard edge.

If the slicked back wet hairstyles seem familiar it's probably because they are.  Similar pulled back wet look hairstyles were all the rage on the Spring 2011 runways at Bill Blass, Joseph Altuzarra, Erin Fetherson, Dries Van Noten and Richard Chai Love.

The wet hair look works with every length and texture of hair.
