Akon Interview On Grammy 2010 Red Carpet Reveals Lady Gaga Secrets

Aliaune Badara Akon Thiam, better known by his middle and stage name Akon was interviewed with Guiliana.  When asked he told Guiliana to change her name as Lady GG or similar.  Akon was on the Red Carpet with his mother and he was wearing a Lady Gaga t-shirt.

Guiliana said "I don't know about Lady JuJu, which is what Olivia Munn called her.  Guiliana turned to Akon and said "what should I be called"  Akon said "Lady GG"  Guiliana "what's up Akon?"  Akon "what's up baby?"

Guiliana "are you with your younger sister?"  Akon "oh yeah well she's like my sister."  Guiliana "how is she be your mother?  She's too young."

Akon's Mother "Well thank you.  That's made my day."  Guiliana "I love Akon.  I remember you brought your mom before to the Grammys."  Akon "yeah, we brought her last year.  She was always in the background."

Guiliana "family's very important to you."  Akon "absolutely she's (his mom) like the key to my success, you now?."

Guiliana "that's great.  I love that you're wearing a Lady Gaga shirt because you discovered Lady Gaga."

Akon "awww, that's my girl. My little devil. She deserves everything."

Guiliana "How did you discover her?"  Akon "Wow, it's funny, because when I first started my label over at and I ran into her and she was signed with Streamline and we got the motivation to put this thing up.  You know?"

Guiliana "WOW. So what was it about her that made you say 'this girl's got it?"  Akon "Cause she was a star before the fame. Like, instantly from the moment I saw her, like I knew she's a star.  But she's like this everyday.  It's not like something that was choreographed or put together."

Guiliana "What's something I don't know about her because she's kinda secretive that Lady Gaga. What's something that would surprise me?"

Akon "Well believe it or not she's not really secretive.  That's the thing.  She's wide open.  That's why people love her so much.  Because she's so open with who she is.  She's completely open, she's free."

Guiliana "She's free.  Now you've collaborated with something like 300 artists.  Now that's amazing."

Akon whistled "That's a lot."  Guiliana "So what is it about an artist that makes you say, I want to collaborate with that person?"

Akon "Well at first my goal was to collaborate with all the artists I admired.  Which were all the big artists from Michael Jackson to Lionel Ritchie to you name it, Gwen Stefani, Whitney and then it got to the point where I worked with everybody I loved to work with.  So I just wanted to create the opportunity for people who wanted to work with me to do it."

Guiliana "Is there anyone here tonight that maybe's going to be here tonight that you haven't worked with that you'd like to work with?  Maybe some of the younger people?  You work with everyone."

Akon "Yeah I can't think."  Guiliana "Lets not go there.  But we've gotta find some.  OK thank Akon.  Always so fun to see you. Bye Mama Akon."  Akon gave Guiliana a kiss on the cheek and she shook hands with Akon's mom.
