Miss America 2009 Celebrates With Children's Miracle Network

The celebration for Children's Miracle Network began in Orlando this week with a series of celebratory events.

This annual celebration kicked off Thursday with an opening night party and special pin exchange event where Miss America 2009, Katie Stam, met children from across the country who are champions in fighting life threatening illnesses.

These children have faced the most challenging health issues and have emerged as heroes.

This touching event was followed by a special performance with Julianne Hough from ABC's hit show Dancing With The Stars (DWTS).

The Delta Miracle Awards Formal Dinner took place on Friday, March 20th with Katie performing "What a Wonderful World". The magic will continue during the Miracles in Media awards on Saturday, March 21st, where Katie will perform "Hero."

Katie leaves for DC on Sunday March 22nd with the Miracle Kids.   On Monday, March 23rd, Katie and the kids will travel to the White House, where they are expected to meet with the President of the United States, Barack Obama.

Katie's time in Florida with the Miracle Kids has been wonderful so far, and she can't wait to spend the rest of the weekend with them!

Daily Hair Tip
Always detangle wet hair with a good quality hair pick or wide toothed comb. Make sure that the pick or comb's "teeth" are smooth to prevent snagging or ripping delicate wet hair.
