Hair Barrette Creates Carmen Electra's Hair Bump

Jenny McCarthy, Carmen Electra and Kim Kardashian were the celebrity hostesses at the annual Leather & Lace party  8 p.m. to 3 a.m. Friday at Jackson's Bistro, 601 S Harbour Blvd., Tampa. Tickets were $275 in advance, which included open premium liquor, beer and wine; or $650 in advance for VIP access.

What I immediately noticed when looking at the images of Carmen, who I absolutely adore as a result of two different phone experiences via Celebrity Hairdresser Ken Paves, was that Carmen was wearing a hair barrette as a functional part of her hairstyle which she wore to the Leather and Lace party.

Carmen did such a great job or integrating the hair barrette into her hairstyle you have to look hard to see it but its there holding back a triangular section of tresses off her forehead and forming a little separation from the back of the crown area.

Carmen had a teeny tiny "hair bump" which was created by pulling her gorgeous long beautifully highlighted tresses up and off her stunning face.  Carmen's hair was softly curled into ringlets which were allowed to cascade down around her beautiful face.

I immediately zoned in on the hair barrette which was the same color as Carmen's milk chocolate lowlights.

The barrette was used to "push up" the front hair to give it that slight hair bump profile but it was very chic and fashionable.  It appeared to be a spring clip barrette and it was of average length and width.

It looked so great and of course since hair accessories have been my personal passion for the past 12 years, I was thrilled to spot it.

Who do you think personally selected the majority of the over 10,000 different hair accessories currently available for sale at HairBoutique.com?  Well of course it was me.  Although its lots of work to trek to the various venues to locate the different accessory designers, it is worth it when I see a celebrity wearing a hair barrette in such a creative yet simple and functional manner.

If you look closely at Carmen's hair from time to time she will use functional hair accessories such as barrettes, headbands, sleeper clips and related items to fine tune and finish her hairstyle.

Carmen is close with friends with Kenney Paves who has been her Celebrity Hairdresser for many years.  In fact, the lovely celebrity and Jessica Simpson flew to Detroit, Michigan some years back when Ken opened his very first hair salon in Michigan.  They were there for the opening to support Ken who always supports them.

Regardless of her brilliant barrette use, Carmen is not only incredibly beautiful on the outside, she is also beautiful on the inside and is a sweet, loving and charming woman.
