The Giovanni Magnetic Hair Care Line

Introduction

The Giovanni product line and my hair go back many years. In 1988 when I submitted by Brillo Pad Blonde hair to a long hair expert, he first recommended a long hair care product line. My hair did not take well to the recommended line at all. In frustration my hair consultant gave up on me.

A few days later I was hanging out in the local Blue Bonnet grocery store and noticed a shelf with all natural hair care products. Nestled in the middle was Giovanni's 50/50 Shampoo and Conditioner. What the heck, I picked it up, took it home and loved the results.

My long hair stylist was even impressed. Not only did he start recommending the product as an alternative to his long hair clientele, he started using the products as well.

Over the years I have tried just about every one of the Giovanni products. Some I loved, some I liked and some did not work as well for me. This is actually a good thing since not any one hair care product will always work well for everyone.

Magnetic Energizing Line

When I heard that Giovanni had their new Magnetic Energizing Shampoo and Conditioner I was fascinated. I decided to try them and try them I did.

I was first very impressed by the packaging that had a magnet look and feel. The silver plastic shampoo and conditioner containers have red tops that are reminiscent of real magnets. The lids are pop-top and easily dispense the thick and creamy shampoo and conditioner. Yes, the actual shampoo and conditioner are shimmery silver, like parts of a magnet. The thick and creamy shampoo and conditioner look just like liquid magnets. I was fascinated.

Even better, the aroma for both products was wonderful. I had a hard time explaining the aroma except that it had a clean fresh scent that hints of rosemary and sage.

There is also a small "Gioism" printed on every bottle. One of my Gioisms was "Magnet: The French word for Love".

The proof is in the pudding and I decided to evaluate the impact of this new product on my very long, chemically highlighted, naturally wavy dry hair. The Giovanni folks report that the new magnetic line is safe, gentle and effective for all hair types and colors, including blonde and gray. Shampoo Ingredients

Each Giovanni Shampoo and Conditioner is unique because it has a specific MDL or Magnetic Density Level. My Giovanni Magnetic Energizing Shampoo had a level of 5 MDL while my Conditioner had a level 8. Although the MDL levels are random for each bottle, they indicate the amount of magnetic therapy contained in each formula.

What Is A MAGNETIC DENSITY LEVEL (MDL)?

The Magnetic Density Level (MDL) indicates the amount of Magnetite that is used in each formula. The higher the number, the greater amount of Magnetite used. Therefore, a Level 10 has twice as much Magnetite as Level 5. The greater the level of Magnetite the greater the conditioning properties that the product possesses. Also, with increased Magnetite comes increased benefits from magnetic therapy for your hair and scalp. Giovanni is careful to use only the highest quality Magnetite available to ensure pure, sustained magnetic energy.

How It Was Invented

I was curious how Giovanni came up with the original idea for using magnets in their hair care formula. What I discovered was that Arthur and son James, have studied the various uses and beneficial effects of magnetic power for many years. It is a well-known fact that for centuries people have used Magnetic Power to encourage good health and provide a sense of well-being. The folks at Giovanni figured that our hair and scalps could also benefit from the magnets as well.

The Magnetic Energizing Shampoo and Conditioner were invented about a year ago during an all night research session with friend and physicist, Dr. D. Raehmer. After working with Raehmer the entire concept began to gel. At about 3:30 a.m. the research team came across a powerful and proven mathematical theorem that would unlock the secret of magnetism and beautiful hair. It was a fantastic new discovery for hair! This well-known mathematical theorem (E=-B) became such an important part of the product formulation that it has been printed on every bottle.

How It Is Made

As far as how the product is made, Giovanni’s Senior Chemist, Dr. John Weaver explained: "Even the way we manufacture the product is different. We’ve invented a new type of mixing tank that is magnetically charged. When we mix the ingredients together in these Structuring Tanks the formulas become structured— that is, the ingredients take on a synergistic characteristic that improves performance by magnetically aligning all of the ingredients.”

How It Made My Hair Feel

There have been moments in my life when I discovered a hot new hair care product and took it home with great expectations. Sometimes my high hopes were met. More times than not they were dashed to pieces, leaving me totally frustrated. Even with a history or spotty testing results, I still work very hard to keep an open mind when I test the many products that show up in my mail on a regular basis.

After my first use of the Giovanni Magnetic Shampoo and Conditioner my hair felt softer and was definitely shinier. Do I believe in magnetic therapy? Absolutely. Did I actually feel the tiny magnets? I am not really sure, but overall my hair did seem stronger and healthier.

As always, I decided to give the Giovanni products my full 30 day test. I used the shampoo and conditioner non-stop for a full month. The fact that I continued to use the product is always a very good sign for me. Many times after just a few treatments I have to abandon a new product because it is destroying my hair. The good news is that after a full month with the magnetic shampoo and conditioner my hair continued to respond very well.

I noticed that my hair not only felt softer, it seemed to have more shine and body. I was also very aware that there was not fading of my highlights. Giovanni promises that the magnetic shampoo and conditioner are safe for color treated hair. I found this to be true.

Will this product work for everyone? Probably not since everyone is different and different needs. I can say that I enjoyed the shampoo and conditioner and will continue to use it along with my other favorites.
