Rachel Hannah Weisz (born 7 March 1970) is an English actress and model. She was born in Westminster, London, England, and grew up in Hampstead Garden Suburb.

She gained wide public recognition after her portrayal of Evelyn "Evy" Carnahan-O'Connell in the films "The Mummy" and "The Mummy Returns."

In 2001, she starred opposite Hugh Grant in the hit "About a Boy" and continued to garner leading roles in Hollywood productions. Her performance in "The Constant Gardener" (2005) won her the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, along with other major motion picture awards.

During her university years she appeared in various student productions, co-founding a student drama group called Cambridge Talking Tongues, which went on to win a Guardian Student Drama Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for an improvised piece called Slight Possession.

The Lovely Bones

Rachel is currently starring in "The Lovely Bones" which demonstrates how a grief, sorrow and the struggle to find a way out of a crisis can still be beautiful.

Rachel Weisz played the mother of Susie Salmon who was murdered but it not really gone. Her spirit is in an in-between world, where she struggles with her emotions.

She is trapped between her fear, hate and desire for vengeance, and her love for her family and desire to help them heal. Of course Rachel rises to the occasion and is wonderful in the part. When isn't Rachel wonderful though?

She may be a star, but Oscar-winning actress Rachel Weisz likes to live an ordinary life with her three-year old son Henry and her love, director fiancee Darren Aronofsky.

The award winning star likes to play the role of an extra-ordinary woman onscreen, but has a normal life, Contact music reported.

"Of course, it's not ordinary to get dressed in frocks to walk down red carpets and travel all over the world and stay in five-star hotels. I'm not working in a factory. But I drop Henry off at school and pick him up. I try my hardest to keep everyone together," Weisz said.

However, the 40-year-old actress is still in love with acting as she believes there is always a new project for her to get involved in.

"That's the great thing about acting. I can never imagine being satiated. It's just like some math problem to figure out. I'm just getting started," Weisz said.

Hairstyle: Long Dark Cinnamon Wavy Hairstyle

Rachel Weisz 2009

Rachel is famous for walking a line between romantic, ethereal and edgy styles. Even with her busy lifestyle she always looks finished and put together.

She is always creative with her hairstyles and alternates between wearing her longer hair down in soft waves cascading around her shoulders.

Sometimes she mixes things up by wearing a half up/half down hairstyle. She might even try out a myriad of twists, chignons and buns.

Rachel gets an A+ for selecting hairstyles which show off her gorgeous skin tone along with her beautiful eyes and lips.

Hairstyle Color: Dark Cinnamon Brown

Hairstyle Highlights/Lowlights: Rachel's hair has finely woven lighter cinnamon brown highlights. The highlights provide warmth, depth and volume for her fine tresses.

Rachel's highlights help to create a rich color with great shine. She does not appear to wear hair extensions, but in Hollywood, anything is possible.

Texture: Rachel's hair appears to be in excellent shape with a very slight hint of bend. Her long lengths consist of subtle layers placed throughout the interior and around the perimeters of her hairstyle.

Rachel wears her hair in a nape neck chignon, side pony and other could work well with her thick and shiny hair.

Fringe: Rachel recently has been wearing her tresses brushed off the front of her hairline off a center part. In the past she has worn a wide range of parts including side parts and off center parts. She has also worn side swept fringes.

Face Shape: Depending on how Rachel wears her hair, her face appears to alternate between square with a more pointed chin which is partially heart shaped.

She has gorgeous eyes and lips which help to balance her shape. By allowing her hair to flow softly along the perimeter of her face, she enhances the beauty of her eyes and lips without drawing attention to her prominent chin and nose.

Hairstyle Works Best: Rachel has a beautiful hairline. Her hairstyle works best for tresses which are shoulder length or longer and all one length or with subtle layers.

The best texture for recreating this hairstyle is straighter hair with some bend or natural waves just like Rachel. Of course tight curls might not work with this hairstyle, but any curls which can be temporarily straightened could also be an option.

Rachel's hairstyle can be copied with or without a fringe. However, a fringe would be problematic for those with naturally curly tresses.

Hair Tools Required: This style is best achieved on freshly cleansed hair properly prepped with styling products to give the hair appropriate workability.

Depending on the type, texture and current condition of your hair it may or may not be appropriate to utilize a leave-in conditioner, defrisant, styling spray and/or cream, sculpting hairspray, shine spray and/or serum drops.

Hair wax is also optional for creating different textures. If you want lots of volume you may want to consider using a volumizing program with shampoo and root spray.

Utilize the products which work best for your hair type, texture and history.

The waves can be created by blow drying with a long diffuser attachment on a blow dryer to encourage natural waves and curls.

If preferred, hair can be sectioned and rolled into a wet set with self adhesive rollers and pins. The hair can be dried under a hood or similar style dryer.

Another option is to use pin curls or separate hair and roll individual strands around a finger and then pin.

If you prefer a more finished or textured look you can utilize, a small, medium or large barrel curling iron to fine tune wave formation. Use a long tail comb to create a desired part and a wide tooth comb to detangle.

To add strategically placed volume, fullness and/or length you may wish, if your base hair is long enough, to play with clip-in hair extensions, clip in fringes or a clip-in pony for a completely different look.

Steal Rachel's Hair Style

This style is ideal for shoulder length or longer tresses which are medium in thickness. Follow the steps below to re-create Rachel's sleek chignon hair style:

Start with a perfection hair cut which is all one length or with very slight layers throughout. Rachel's hair is cut in a mid-back length. The front angles start below the chin and flow back into longer progressive layers.

1. Begin styling by washing your hair in lukewarm water with a product designed to add back moisture and to treat colored or highlighted hair with tender loving care.

Optionally you may prefer to create this style on aged hair or you may wish to do a Condition Only (CO), Diluted Shampoo (DS) or Water Only (WO). Select the best option for your hair type, texture, condition and history.

2. Rinse hair well and then apply a moisturizing rinse-out conditioner focusing the products on the areas of the hair that are most dry or damaged. If your hair is fine or thin you may wish to skip this option or only apply to the ends of the hair.

3. For extra conditioning, if appropriate for your hair type and texture, substitute the rinse-out conditioner with a deep conditioner that is allowed to soak down into the hair's shaft.

4. Finish with a cool/cold rinse to lock in moisture and add additional shine.

5. Towel blot or plop to remove excess moisture.

Apply a conditioning detangling spray or leave-in conditioner or apply a hair product cocktail (depending on your hair type, texture and condition) consisting of leave-in conditioner mixed with anti-frizz product. If your hair is naturally curly or wavy you may also wish to use a straightening balm for the last step.

Note: If your hair is prone to frizzing apply a defrisant product or mix with your other styling products. Many celebrities are big fans of Phytodefrisant.

6. Detangle strands with a wide tooth comb working from the ends to the roots. Create either a center or side part, depending on how you wish to style your hair.

7. For fullness, lift and volume throughout the crown, apply a volume enhancing product to the roots.

8. Separate strands into 1" to 2 1/2" sections and blow dry with a long finger diffuser or a boar's bristle round brush.

After each section is dry, wrap the strand around your finger in a ringlet curl and pin against the scalp. Continue to do this until all of your hair has been dried, re-curled and pinned.

Note: If hair is naturally curly, do not use fingers to blow dry since this can add to frizz. Use a round boar's bristle brush instead.

For added volume you may wish to consider a vent brush as you blow dry. Blow dry the top sections of hair using fingers to lift individual top strands and direct the air flow from ends to roots

9. Once hair is 100% dry, unpin each ringlet. Bend over at the waist and lightly shake hair to loosen the newly formed curls and waves. Finger pick and tousle to arrange curls.

Avoid using a brush or a comb which will break up the newly formed curls. Lightly backcomb the crown area to create lots of height.

10. Gently smooth down the teased area. Apply a shine serum, shine spray or hair cream to seal in moisture and add a soft shine similar to Rachel's.

Work the product into the palms of your hands and then rake with your fingers from the ears down to the ends (avoid the roots to eliminate danger of any type of oil buildup).

11. When your hair is styled to your desired texture, you may apply optional hairspray for hold and finish.

12. Adorn with a small jeweled clip or flower hair accessory if desired.

With the advantage of the revolutionary clip-on hair pieces from Jessica Simpson and Ken Paves' HairDo line, short haired people can instantly morph to much longer lengths and copy Rachel's easy waves. It's truly a hair miracle.
