Jennifer Love Hewitt: Shining Star At FOX 2002 Teen Choice Awards

The 2002 Teen Choice Awards sizzled with a guest list of some of today's biggest and brightest stars including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kelly Osbourne and Reese Witherspoon, to name just a few. The evening made for great celebrity hair and style viewing.

The beautifully coifed Jennifer Love Hewitt made her very first nationally televised singling debut while headlining the FOX special. The former 1999 Choice TV Actress winner for her role on Party of Five and Choice Female Hottie demonstrated that she is not only a multi-talented film and television star but also a budding recording artist. Performing the single "BareNaked" from her forthcoming album of the same title, Hewitt captivated the audience with her performance. (Photo copyright Fox - 2002 - all rights reserved).

Whether Hewitt is acting, singing, dancing or hanging out, her hair is always the epitome of style and fashion. Morphing from her trademark sultry long brunette tresses to a variety of shorter styles and colors, Jennifer continues to captivate audiences. Her Teen Choice coif consisted of a ravishing below-the- shoulder thick shaggy do that framed her face perfectly. Whether it was the lightening or the backdrop, Jennifer's hair definitely appeared to be a much darker shade than her previous light chocolate brown. From her hair to her performance Hewitt commanded five stars. (Photo copyright Fox - 2002 - all rights reserved).

Legally Blonde Reese Witherspoon appeared in typical highlighted splendor to pick up her Extraordinary Achievement Award. Reese looked adorable as ever with a hot pink floral piece adorning her shoulder-length slightly flipped hair. Reese appears to be in hair growth mode with her former chin length shattered bob a distant memory. With side swept bangs completing her strands Reese looked cute as ever. Sarah Michelle Gellar was on hand to receive two awards for her famous roles in Scooby-Doo and TV's Buffy, The Vampire Slayer (my all time personal favorite TV series). Sarah’s win for Choice TV Actress is her eighth award overall and her third win in four years for this category. This gives the Slayer more wins than any other female. Sarah's hair has recovered nicely from her famous on-set hair chop of last season. Her trademark blonde highlights are making their way back to the Slayer's famous sultry mid-back length. Imagine my excitement to discover that the award for Choice TV Sidekick went to Buffy's Alyson Hannigan (wearing longer locks) for her role as the ruby haired Willow. Alyson was on hand to receive her sidekick trophy and to celebrate as part of the American Pie II cast for their win as Choice Movie - Comedy. Alyson looked great with her shoulder length locks. Does this mean that Willow will be wearing a longer look for the Fall season?

Additional celebrities like Mini-Me's Verne Troyer, Kelly (sporting a black and white striped bubble do) and Jack Osbourne (wearing an edgy obscene tie) newly redheaded Rose McGowan (Charmed), blonde ponytailed Eve, blonde Alison Mack (Smallville), medium shaggy curled Mena Suvari and Pamela Anderson graced the audience or the stage at various times.

Kelly Osbourne ditched her former bright red locks in exchange for her new stark black do with stark platinum white highlights marking just one side. Although Kelly looked smashing in her former red hues, the black was definitely an interesting new look for her strands. It flattered her eyes and face. Even more significant was Kelly's beaded hoop earrings that caused a major media buzz.

Brunette beauty Shannon Elizabeth appeared along with some of the American Pie II cast to receive the award.

Also in attendance was Buffy's little sister Michelle Trachtenberg who is all grown up. The lovely Michelle presented on of the Teen Choice awards while showing off her slightly shorter, heavily highlighted famous cinnamon chocolate mane. (Photo copyright Fox - 2002 - all rights reserved).

Musical artists included Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath, and Usher, to name a few. Sports personalities included Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant.

Choose a hairstyle that specifically suits your face shape, hair type, texture and lifestyle. Never choose a hairstyle for a popular celebrity or for the hair trend of the moment. Celebrity and fashion hair styles change rapidly leaving you with yesterday's style.
