Reese Witherspoon Hair Secrets

Introduction

Reese Witherspoon This Means War

It's hard to believe a beautiful blonde Reese Witherspoon (born March 22, 1976) first appeared on screen in 1991.

Her breakout role was in 2001 with the release of Legally Blonde where her hair was as much a part of fan adoration as her acting.

Although fans loved her lush buttery blonde hair from the minute she appeared on the big screen, her role as a hair icon caught fire after Legally Blonde. Since then her tresses have been written about almost as often as Jennifer Aniston.

Dubbed the queen of romantic comedies (RomComs) the famous Southern Belle actress recently stepped out of her normal comfort zone to take on a hot new role in a sexy action/comedy film in the vein of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Bad Boys, Beverly Hills Cop.

This Means War is a movie, where the love of a woman turns best friends and super-spies Tuck (Tom Hardy) and FDR (Chris Pine) into rivals using all the high-tech tools and muscle at their disposal to wage an epic battle.

Even better, Reese has Chelsea Handler as her co-star in the films. The two are actually best friends off-screen and their chemistry transitions to the screen adding a level of familiarity and comfort.

Throughout the film she rocks an array of sassy outfits and hairstyles as well as some laid-back classic styles.

One of my favorite looks was when Reese's long blonde tresses were swept up and off her face and held simply in place with obvious bobby pins.

This Means War Premiere

Honoring Lauren, her This Means War character, Reese wore sassy revealing outfits for the movie's premiere which was held at the world famous Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

The blonde beauty rocked a low-cut corset top embellished with gold and silver metalwork. She also rocked a risqué figure revealing pencil skirt.

Her beautiful long blonde hair was styled perfectly in a simple but chic straight style with tousled bangs. Reese's skin looked gorgeous and was made up by Robin Fredriksz who utilized Avon products on the Avon spokeswoman.

The Academy Award winner actress has a long term contract with Avon and believes in wearing Avon to achieve her various looks.

Reese Witherspoon's Signature Hairstyles

The actress has a classic heart shaped face and famous baby blue eyes which she often highlights with an array of bangs and blonde hued strands.

Although Reese has worn an array of chin-length or short hairstyles, her face shape is complemented with shoulder length or longer looks. Reese has naturally fine hair which benefits from being lightened.

In 2007 Reese made a significant hair statement by showcasing a blunt fringe which highlighted her stunning blue eyes, her gorgeous skin and her smile.

It was a great hair look for Reese. Although her blunt bangs of 2007 have long faded from view, she continues to wear an array of fringe styles ranging from side-swept to long and choppy.

1. Cleanse detangle hair following your normal cleansing routine (Conditioner Only, Water Only, Diluted Shampoo, Undiluted Shampoo) with lukewarm water.

Note: If your hair is fine or thin you can add volume by utilizing a volume enhancing shampoo and rinse-out conditioner.

2. After rinsing out shampoo or cleansing formula, if appropriate, apply a rinse out conditioner to the middle and ends or the hair to avoid flattening out the roots. 3. Detangle hair in horizontal sections with a wide tooth comb and/or fingers working from the ends to the roots. 4. Finish with a cool/cold final water rinse which helps to close the cuticle and add volume. 5. Towel blot to remove moisture. 6. Apply desired styling formula cocktail such as defrisant, root volumizing formula, styling cream and/or mousse. Smooth styling cocktail from the ears down to the ends.

Note: To add volume, apply a volume enhancing spray to roots to amp up volume.

7. Use fingers or wide tooth comb to create desired part.

8. Separate hair into 6-8 sections and work on one section at a time. 9. Use a medium sized round boar’s bristle brush and a blow dryer with a concentrator attachment to dry each section. Direct the air up from the ends towards the roots for the most volume. 10. After each section is 100% dry roll around a large curler or your fingers and pin against the scalp. 11. Once all of the hair is completely dry and cool unpin all the rollers or sections. 12. Use a brush or your fingers to arrange the curls into loose volume infused strands. 13. Touch up individual sections with a hot curling iron. 14. Finish with a spritz of hair spray and/or a swipe of shine serum.

Alternatively if you want to go with less fullness you can use a flat iron to add sleek straightness throughout.

Summary

For lots of lush volume consider adding some strategically positioned clip-in hair extensions. If you don't normally wear bangs and want to copy Reese's fringe you can consider clipping in a temporary fringe.

If desired you can dress up your shimmering hairstyle with a sparkly hair clip or gorgeous headband. The options for a spectacular hairstyle are endless.
