Mousse From The Hair Gods

Introduction

I’m not usually a big mousse fan (except for lemon, with whipped cream), but Edwin Paul's Gel Mousse (pictured to the left) is different than any other mousse I’ve ever tried.

You know how some men use that green gel-that-turns-to-foam to shave with?

Well, this Gel Mousse does the same kind of thing (and you could probably shave with it, too); just a tiny blob of gel turns into a handful of foam.

Usage

Use a dime-sized blob of gel to produce a nice mound of mousse. Apply to damp hair and style with comb or fingers.

Packaging

Edwin Paul Gel Mousse comes in clean white plastic container, with crisp black lettering.

Fragrance

This smells wonderful, and you can see why when you take a look at the ingredients. You can especially smell the kiwi and awapuhi, and it scents your hair with a sweet yet elusive fragrance.

How I Tested This Product

As I said, I’m not usually crazy about mousses, but this one is pretty neat.

After washing my hair, I towel-dried it, then applied the mousse. All I did was style my hair with my fingers, and let it air dry. (Did I mention that this product is alcohol-free? That’s good news for hair because it’s less drying.)

My usual routine in the morning is to shower, do my hair, have breakfast, then do my makeup and get dressed. This all gives my hair time to dry.

By the time I was dressed, made up, and accessorized, I was pleasantly surprised to see how soft and pizzazz-y my hair looked.

Who knew a mousse could work this well?

Allow me a second on my soapbox—there are so many hair products out on the marketplace today that make thin hair look thick, but few that really do the job on thick hair.

Some products supposedly for thick hair merely weigh the hair down, giving you the hated Helmet Head. Edwin Paul Gel Mousse gave my hair the lift it needed, and a lot of shine as well.

Ingredients

Extract of awapuhi, aloe vero, passionfruit, mango and kiwi, PVP/VA copolymer, isopentane, isobutene, polyquarternium-28, oleth-20, hydrolyzed whole wheat protein, panthenol, sodium PCA, dimethicone copolyol, benzophene-3 [sunscreen], DEA-methoxycinnamate [sunscreen], sodium-carbomer 940, tetrasodium EDTA, methylparaben, diazolidinyl urea, and fragrance.

Conclusion

This is an excellent mousse! I recommend it for most hair types, even thick hair. Guess this will teach me to keep an open mind!
