Combine a sassy sexy prom gown with a glam wave infused hairstyle. It's always best to tone down your hair if you amp up your gown.
The stunning Clarisse style prom dress #1402 combines a luscious rich blue hued gown with a stunning leopard print. Delicately placed charmeuse and tulle fabrics make this design unique.
A waist flattering black sash is set off with a fashion forward feather pin.
Soft glam waves brushed off the hairline and cascading down around the shoulders and back are a perfect option for this amazing gown.
This simple and elegant Prom hairstyle works best for tresses which are chin length or longer and medium to thick.
The key to this glam Prom hairstyle is to create it on hair which is styled shiny and sleek with loose waves throughout the perimeter.
One of the biggest challenges of this gorgeous hairstyle is to prevent humidity and frizz. This can easily be accomplished with the proper styling cocktail including a defrisant and a finishing shine spray or serum.
How to Get The Glam Prom Wavy Hairstyle
1. Wash hair in lukewarm water with the best products for your hair type, texture, length and condition. Utilize the best cleansing process for your strands such as Conditioner Only Wash (CO-Wash), Diluted Shampoo (DS), Water Only (WO) or a range of shampoo formulations including LoPoo and NoPoo. 2. Rinse cleansing formula from strands. Gently squeeze out excess water. 3. Apply a rinse-out conditioning formula appropriate for your strands. 4. Use your fingers or a hair-friendly wide tooth comb and gently detangle from ends up to the roots while rinse-out is still present on hair. 5. After detangling rinse well. Finish with a cool or cold water final rinse. 6. Towel blot with a hair friendly towel without loops or rough fibers. 7. Apply cocktail of designed styling products including, but not limited to, a leave-in conditioner, a defrisant, styling cream and/or mousse. Use styling products which work best for your hair type, texture and styling needs. 8. Separate hair into 6-8 equal sized sections. The ideal sectioning would include two on either side and 4 in the back. 9. Use a paddle brush to blow dry each section straight. 10. With a comb create desired side part on either side of your head.
Separate Hair, Curl And Pin To Create Waves
11. Separate hair into 6-8 sections. 12. Starting in front, wrap two-inch sections of hair around a large-barrel curling iron. Hold for three seconds, then slip the iron out and bobby-pin the curl to your head. 13. When all the individual sections have been curled and formed into invisible curlers mist the pinned curls with a light or medium holding hairspray. Allow curls to completely dry and set for 30 to 60 minutes. 14. Remove clips from each section and let hair dangle. 15. Use your fingers to rake through your hair and sculpt the waves throughout the edges. If any of the waves aren't formed to your liking you can use the curling iron to touch up the target section. 16. Spritz a lightweight shine spray into the palms of your hands. Massage hands together and then lightly swipe over the top of the hair being careful to avoid the roots.
Note: For a tighter set you can roll hair into more sections and use a smaller barrel curling iron.
Remember when adding styling products to use the right amount for your hair type and texture and concentrate the product in the areas of the tresses where it's needed most.
When it comes to styling a glam prom wavy hairstyle there are many different designs you can create.
You can also custom design the hairstyle for your face shape by experimenting with different parts and fringes.
