I have been following the crazy ride of Lindsay Lohan for years. Yes, she was very cute in the remake of The Parent Trap assuming the Haley Mills role as the twins.

I also loved her in Freaky Friday with Jamie Lee Curtis and Herbie.

As a celebrity hair watcher I have been mesmerized by her many changes in her hair color, length and style over the past five years.

Another part of Lindsay that is fascinating is her astrological information.

Born a Cancer on July 2, 1986 in New York City, Lindsay displays many of the signature characteristics of the sign.

Keep in mind that Lindsay has the very best hair and beauty experts in the industry at her fingertips. Just like Paris, Nicole and all the Jessicas and Kates this young star has only the best of the best at her constant beck and call.

Lindsay has established a hair and beauty signature look that she continues to refine.

Although her natural color is a rich cinnamon, she has experimented with every color under the rainbow. It's important to note some of her hair hue transformations are fueled by whatever role she is working on at the time.

Regardless of the color of the moment, Lindsay looks great with her hair either up or done. She has rocked some serious twists but also has done waves, curls and stick straight strands with finesse.

Lately the beautiful young superstar has favored half up/half down styles with a full crown.

Steal Lindsay's Hair Style - Step By Step

Lindsay has access to some of the best hair extension experts on either coast. Her latest Bobby hairstyle showcases lots of thick lush locks that may have been supplemented with clip-on on fusion hair extensions.

If you have is naturally thin or fine, you may want to consider working with clip-in temporary extensions to achieve additional fullness and length. Check out the Jessica Simpson & Ken Paves HairDo Line.

If you're in the mood to try Lindsay's latest hairstyle follow these steps:

1. Shampoo hair with your normal shampoo in lukewarm water. Note: If your hair bleached, colored or highlighted like Lindsay's you may wish to opt for a moisture enhancing shampoo or one that is designed specifically for colored or bleached strands like some of the fantastic Phyto formulas.

Since chemically treated hair tends to be dry, you may also want to investigate Phyto products that moisturize.

2. Depending on your hair texture, type and condition use a rinse out conditioner. If your hair is thin or tends to be flat you may wish to avoid this step. 3. Finish with a cool/cold water rinse to close cuticles and add natural shine. 4. Towel blot hair to remove excess moisture.

To Add Lindsay's Waves To Stick Straight Strands

1. If your hair is naturally straight, after you have towel blotted your strands apply a firm holding mousse or similar styling formula to your hair from the top of your ears to the ends. Use your fingers to distribute well or comb through.

2. To achieve extra lift and volume, apply a volume enhancing spray to the roots of your hair. Apply a few squirts of Robert Hallowell's Super Volumizing Tonic or Phytovolume Actif with keratin amino acids.

Whatever product or type of product you prefer, it is important to concentrate the bulk of the product on or near the roots of your hair. Comb the product from the roots to the ends to give your hair lift.

Conair Accessories - Mega Ceramic - Jumbo Barrel Brush - Red (1)3. Separate hair into individual strands that are approximately 2 inches in thickness.

Use a boar's bristle vent style brush and direct air flow "up" the shaft from ends to roots to get great root lift.

Note: My all time favorite combo vent & boars brush is the Conair Mega Ceramic - Jumbo Barrel Brush - Red.

In fact, I love this brush so much that I have one on my desk at all time.

If you prefer, you may also wish to bend over at the waist and dry the underside of your hair first. One drawback to this option is that your hair may become tangled when you flip your head back over.

4. When hair is completely dry, separate into individual sections that are 2-3" in thickness. Prepare each section with a spritz of styling spray. Roll hair in preheated large diameter hot curlers.

Note: You may also use a wide barrel curling iron if you prefer.

5. Let the curlers completely cool and then remove them carefully maintaining the new curled shape. Use your fingers and pin the curl intact against the head with bobby pins. Spray lightly with hair spray.

6. Continue to work around the head from side to side hot rolling or curling individual sections. As they cool off, remove each individual curl and pin in place.

7. As a last step before you leave the house, spray all the pinned curls with a light hairspray. Let the spray dry. Working from side to side, carefully unpin all the curls one at a time.

8. Use a boar's bristle paddle brush to smooth the curls.

Conair Accessories - Mega Ceramic - Large Barrel Brush - Red (1)9. Create a half up-half down style by separating an equal section of hair, approximately 1-2" thick that is equally spaced from the middle of each eyebrow.

Use your brush to smooth the section up and off the face connecting the two hair sections at the back of the head right at the back of the crown.

A side benefit of creating this middle up section is that it creates a soft quiff area that extends down the middle of the head.

10. Merge the two sections with the top of crown hair to form a seamless section of hair.

11. For extra fullness, lightly back comb the newly created half-up section of hair along with the new quiff area.

Use fingers to lightly push hair up. Smooth lightly with your fingers and then enclose with a hair clip, barrette or a series of hair pins.

Finish The Look

12. Use your fingers to carefully arrange the remaining waves along the sides of the head into soft cascade patterns.

13. Finish with a spritz of hairspray for more hold or apply a tiny dab of shine serum into the palms massaging well. Lightly brush the serum enhanced palms over the top of your strands for a quick shimmer.

Note: Avoid contact between styling products and any jeweled hair accessories.

For Naturally Curly Strands

Follow the initial shampoo and conditioning steps above.

1. For hair that has natural wave or curl, apply a cocktail of defrisant and straightening gel or a dab of leave-in conditioner with a straightening balm. If additional lift is desired, apply a volumizing product.

2. Finger pick through your damp tresses and then use a round brush while you blow-dry strands straight.

3. Direct the individual sections of hair over to one side as you blow dry to add volume at the roots. Aim the air from the dryer "down" the hair shaft from the roots to the ends.

4. When hair is completely dry, separate into individual sections that are 2-3" in thickness.

Prepare each section with a spritz of styling spray. Roll hair in preheated large diameter hot curlers.

Note: You may also use a wide barrel curling iron if you prefer.

Optional Look

If you are uncomfortable with creating the half up/half down style, skip the steps for creating the quiff section in the middle of the head.

Instead, create a deep side part and direct hair over to one side. This action will result in a full sweep of hair and will work will with the newly created curls.

Summary

Lindsay Lohan is a superstar with lots of hair and beauty savvy. Although she has access to some of Hollywood's biggest stars, anyone can achieve a similar look with some time and practice.

Daily Hair Tip
Split ends are a separation of the hair shaft that exposes hair's fragile inner layers. The only real cure for split ends is to have them trimmed.
