Violet Volovik Wins Goldwell's
Jayne Morehouse/Morehouse Communications, Inc.
Date: 5/1/2002

Linthicum Heights, MD - April 2002 - Violet Volovik has been obsessed with hair for more than half of her life, which is amazing, considering she's just 22 years old.  What began as "hanging around my favorite salon and making them let me work for them handing out flyers," when she was just 13 years old to enrolling in beauty school at the first possible moment has culminated in her winning the title to Cover Artist for Goldwell's Project Glossy, Volume 3 (Image of Violet's Cover shown above - Copyright Goldwell - all rights reserved).

A stylist and colorist at Leoni Hair Workshop in Thornhill, Ontario, Canada, and a dedicated Goldwell user, Violet is fully booked with a clientele that spans several generations, but shares a love of trendy styles.  "They all let me get creative and change their color every visit - even it it's just a subtle change," she says.  Goldwell's Topchic and Colorance are her products of choice, and she has just begun to experiment with Goldwell's new Elumen.

In planning her Project Glossy entry, Violet was inspired by her model to create a "school girl bed head" look that was young and fun, getting its form from texture accented with bold coppers, golds and reds. (Photo of Violet to the side - Copyright Goldwell - all rights reserved).

"I looked at previous Project Glossy covers, then tried to do something completely different," she explains.  Her team included Sebastian Cimetta, photographer; Stasia Stamatakos, makeup artist; Deborah Korosec, fashion stylist; and model Kimiko Hosaki.  She also received great inspiration from salon owner Anthony Leoni.
