Introduction
For
those of you who read my article
on the MINE Blue Monday hair products, here’s another great
deal from MINE-- MINE
Carrot Crme Skin Moisturizer!
Please
don’t get the idea that you’ll smell like carrots and only date
Bugs Bunny for the rest of your life; you won’t. However, if
you’ve already tried any of the MINE products, you’ll definitely
want to check this one out.
A
Word on Moisturizers & Carrots in General
Remember, if your skin is even occasionally
exposed to wind, heat, cold, pollution, and especially sun, you
should moisturize it daily. Moisturizing your skin helps prevent
premature wrinkles and fine lines. In fact, moisturizing and using
sunscreen are the only sure ways to keep wrinkles at bay; that is,
outside of plastic surgery. No matter what shape your skin is in, moisturizers
re-hydrate and replenish natural radiance of your skin. Using them
once or twice a day will help return your skin's natural, healthy
glow.
“Carrot extract (Daucus Carota) contains
carotine, vitamin B1, B2, and C and ethereal oils, sugar and pectic
substances, and is used in skin care products. Carrot
Oil is a golden colored extract from carrots with extraordinary skin
protection and conditioning benefits derived from the high
quantities of oil soluble carotenoids that it contains.
Carotenoids are a class of easily assimilated antioxidants,
which are present in a wide range of fruits and vegetables but most
abundant in carrots. Antioxidants protect human cells from harmful free-radical
attack. Free-radicals are stray oxygen molecules that attack healthy
cell walls and react with polyunsaturated fats to create a chain
reaction of unlimited free-radical regeneration. Free-radicals are
produced by a wide range of environmental pollutants, including UVR.
If left unchecked by antioxidants, free-radicals damage both the
structure and function of cell membranes, resulting in premature
aging, cancer and an array of degenerative diseases.” (Excerpts
from Aesoph
and "Carotenoids: What they are and what they do," Carotenoid
Online Factbook, 1998.
Pretty neat, huh? And you thought you knew all about moisturizers and
carrots!

a bouquet of the same vegetable.
Fragrance
Believe
it or not, this does not smell carrot-y at all. Rather, it has a
sweet and fresh scent with a breath of lavender. The scent does not
linger on the skin.
Using
MINE Carrot Crme Skin Moisturizer
Truly,
this is a wonderful lotion, and can be used for all skin types. A
big plus with me is that it absorbs well into the skin and doesn’t
leave you feeling slimy with residue (yuck). And get this—you’ll
notice the moisturized feeling of your skin for up to 12 hours! It
is particularly effective on those patches of rough skin we all
have—knees, elbows; you know the routine.
Now I don’t generally make this fact about
myself known, but I will for the sake of telling you how good I
think this lotion is—the soles of my feet are rapidly turning into
hooves. I go barefoot nearly all year round, and over the years I
have lost all hope of winning the Pretty Feet Contest. So, to really
put this product through its paces, I used it on my own hard,
calloused, tough old feet.
May I just say—WOW! What a difference! Even
after one application of this stuff, my feet not only felt better,
but actually looked better. I also put it on my elbows and
knees, and felt positively glamorous. Trust me, I’ve put lotion on
my feet before, but this was the first time I did it where I
didn’t immediately fall on the floor afterward because it made my
feet so slippery. It really does sink in quickly!
Conclusion
MINE
Carrot Crme Skin Moisturizer will definitely be part of my skin
arsenal from now on. I can now enjoy going barefoot as always, and
still have nice, soft feet!
