Introduction

Elisha Cuthbert as Kim Bauer

Fox TV's sizzling hit, 24, is currently in its fifth mesmerizing season.

From the time that Jack Bauer (Keifer Sutherland) appeared on the screen there have been a parade of fabulous female stars and guest stars.

The key female cast as listed for the current and fifth season officially includes Mary Lynn Rajskub, Kim Raver, and Jean Smart.

Various famous and not-so-famous female guest stars pop in and out during the current 24 season like Elisha Cuthbert, Sandrine Holt, Jayne Atkinson, Stana Katic, JoBeth Williams, Karla Zamudio, Reiko Aylesworth and Connie Britton.

Even though the guest stars may appear in an few episodes, the show is dominated by Keifer Sutherland, the key female actresses and Carlos Bernard, Louis Lombardi, James Morrison, Roger Cross and Gregory Itzin.

Ironically, all of the key female characters for this current season are blondes with medium or long tresses.   One of the most famous blondes, in terms of cult level status, is Elisha Cuthbert who has found lots of success as a result of her role of Jack's daughter Kim.

Although Elisha is not currently a key player, she was in the first season.  Playing the role of Bauer's daughter, Elisha disappeared for a several episodes.  The beautiful star recently reappeared in Season Five with a long luscious blonde tresses.  Elisha had very short tresses in the first season, which also elevated her to tress goddess standing.

Jean Smart - The Crazy First Lady

This season the Emmy award winning actress Jean Smart (Designing Women, The District, Frasier) is making a huge splash as the slightly off-the-beam, heavily medicated Martha Logan, the new First Lady.  Jean, like Elisha, is a beautiful buttery blonde who wears her tresses in a below-the-shoulder long layered bob style with a soft bend on the ends.  She also has a light fringe that is separated in the middle with a lighter wisp of tresses pushed to one side.

Jean, when interviewed about her role on 24, was thrilled to be able to work on such a fabulous series that pushes her acting chops to the wall.

Inspired the the very  controversial Martha Mitchell, Jean's Martha Logan is a loose canyon that only makes the drama more delicious and riveting.   You never know what exactly to expect from Martha Logan or her equally deranged husband, President Logan.

Kim Raver - Jack Bauer's Lady Love

Another key member of the sizzling 24 cast is the lovely blonde Kim Raver (Third Watch) who plays Jack's lost ladylove Audrey Heller Raines.

I recently caught Kim on The Ellen Degeneres Show and she laughingly told Ellen that her very first day on 24  "was nerve wrecking because she" had to "make out with Keifer Sutherland as Jack Bauer" even though she was just meeting him for the first time.

Kim also joked about the fact that while many TV shows offer job security, 24 has a habit of "whacking a lot of their stars" and "without much notice".  Which can make all the performers "a little nervous".

Although Kim has beautiful buttery blonde highlights intricately woven throughout her shoulder length tresses, she tends to appear on camera with her hair parted to one side and tucked behind her ears.

She tends to alternate between a straight laced medium length version and a looser tousled version, especially when she is fighting villains or doing love scenes with Keifer.

It is interesting to note that in her off-screen performances Kim looks significantly different.  At the recent 24 party celebrating 100 episodes, Kim's strands were a much darker golden blonde with a hint of red.

Her hair was also worn with lots of curls, which is definitely a departure from the straight, sleek looks that she favors in her role on 24.

Mary Lynn Rajskub - Chloe O'Brian

Another key member of the sizzling 24 cast is the lovely blonde Kim Raver (Third Watch) who plays Jack's lost ladylove Audrey Heller Raines.

Mary Lynn Rajskub "Rice-Cub" plays Chloe O'Brian on 24.  The very talented star has established herself as a versatile and dynamic actress, writer and overall performer through television and film roles, as well as stand-out live performances.

She has been on 24 since Season Three and regularly works with Jack Bauer (Keifer Sutherland) during the latest crisis of the moment at the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU).

Mary Lynn's role as Chloe is heart-stopping since she is a key CTU operative and in the current season her life is threatened for her knowledge of Jack's secret whereabouts.

Like the other current 24 cast members, Mary Lynn is a dark golden blonde with highlights and lowlights.

Summary

Blondes really do have more fun, or at least excitement, on 24 during the current fifth season.  All of the primary female regular cast members from Jack Bauer's girlfriend to his daughter and friend are all various shades of beautiful blonde.

Even more interesting is the fact that all of the characters have shoulder length or longer hairstyles worn in a manner befitting their character's role in the series.

24, surpassing 100 episodes this season, is one of the most innovative, addictive and acclaimed dramas on television. In its first four seasons, the suspenseful series has been nominated for a total of 39 Emmys, including four each for Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Kiefer Sutherland.

24 has also received nine Golden Globe nominations and was honored with awards for Best Television Series – Drama and Sutherland’s Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama.
