Introduction
ARTecs MOISTURE PAC is another one of those little hair
secrets that I have been keeping. I finally decided to share my experiences using this
miracle product with the world. Or at least the Hair Boutique world.
I remember clearly the first time I experienced "the PAC". That is what
I lovingly call this elixir of the hair gods. I was at the salon for my quarterly
highlights and complaining bitterly about how dry my hair felt. My stylist, as always, was
sympathetic. She was also full of new hope. She told me that she would do a deep
conditioning treatment on my hair after the highlight. She explained that she had found a
great new product to use from ARTec.
I was skeptical, like I always am, about everything. But I was also willing to try a
conditioning treatment if that would help.
Experiencing MOISTURE PAC For The First Time
After the highlights had been rinsed out and my hair shampooed and towel dried, my
stylist applied this thick creamy concoction from my roots to my ends. She took extra care
to apply the conditioner to the driest (the middle parts) areas.
I noticed a wonderful rich aroma escaping from my stylists fingers as she worked
the conditioner into my hair. I asked her what she was using and she replied that she was
using MOISTURE PAC. Hmmmm. I had no idea what that was but it sounded OK to me.
She covered my drippy, newly conditioner applied head with a plastic cap and guided me
carefully to a hooded style dryer. She turned the temperature to a toasty warm (not hot)
and left me to "cook" for about 20 minutes.
After the required cooking time my stylist rinsed the conditioner out of my hair. She
detangled and picked it out and then blow dried my hair. I could not believe how much
softer my hair felt. Especially right after a highlighting treatment when my hair would
normally feel the driest. My hair felt silky and fluffy and it had a major shine.
MOISTURE PAC Replenished Moisture
I questioned my stylist about the PAC. She told me that it was ARTecs MOISTURE
PAC, an intensive hydrating treatment.
I wanted to know more.
She explained that the MOISTURE PAC was specifically designed to replenish
moisture deprived hair and provide a deep conditioning that would restore elasticity and
strength to the hair. She also explained that the MOISTURE PAC was part of the ARTec
Colorist Collection and was specifically designed for color treated hair. She mentioned
that it did wonders for dry hair, permed hair or any type of chemically treated hair.
That description fit me perfectly. I had dry, color treated hair. I asked her to tell
me more about how the PAC helped color treated hair. She explained that it had a color
sealant with a low 3.0 pH which specifically prevents hair color from fading. She also
told me that the MOISTURE PAC could be used alone or it could be used with the ARTec
Color Fade Prevention System.
I was fascinated and had lots of questions. As I was leaving the salon my stylist
tucked a small white pack with black writing into my hand and told me that it was a gift
from her to try on my hair at home. She told me to use the treatment on clean towel dried
hair and leave it on for 20 minutes. She mentioned that using a hot towel or hair dryer
would help the treatment soak into my hair even more.
I looked closely at the little white and black pack and discovered it was a 1 ounce
packet of the ARTec MOISTURE PAC. I was thrilled. I was also touched that my stylist
gave me this present so I could try it at home and get better acquainted with the product.
I made a mental note to be loyal to my stylist forever.
Two Weeks Later
I waited 2 weeks to use the little treatment packet. On the one hand I couldnt
wait to try it again, on the other hand I wanted to save it for a special event. I was
also concerned that 1 ounce would not be enough to cover my super long hair.
Once I overcame my internal struggle, I dived right in and applied the MOISTURE
PAC to my freshly clean, towel dried hair. I instantly noticed a wonderful aroma. At
first I could not place it but the more I sniffed I decided that the aroma was definitely
floral in composition. I loved it.
I carefully squeezed every last drop of conditioner out of the packet and using my
fingers made sure that I covered the entire length of my hair. There was not a drop left,
but I did manage to cover all of my hair adequately. I wrapped a hot towel over a plastic
shower cap and sat down and read a nice gory True Crime novel for exactly 20 minutes.
I finished with a cool rinse, a squirt of ARTec Kiwi Detangler and picked out my
hair. I let it air dry, like I normally do.
More Great Results
The results were stunning. My hair was softer than it had been in ages. The shine was
blinding (well almost) and I received several compliments on my hair that day (that
hadnt happened in a while).
I could not keep my fingers out of my hair either. I developed "Nervous
Nellie" mannerisms as I used my fingers to play with my hair and enjoy the incredible
softness. The floral aroma had also managed to infiltrate my hair and I had a nice whiff
of the wonderful scent every time I whipped my hair around. I almost felt like I was on a
hair commercial. You know, where the woman whips her hair from side to side.
I was completely sold. I was totally convinced. I had to have it. MOISTURE PAC
was better than Ben & Jerrys Chubby Hubby mix.
I called my stylist and asked to buy more. She encouraged me not to use the treatment
too often and to research it more. That was my starting bell. I love to research hair care
products. So research I did.
Positively Charged Humectants Attracted To Damaged Sites
I discovered that the MOISTURE PAC is basically a moisture re-conditioner
designed for color or chemically treated hair. It provides deep conditioning benefits. It
also adds super volume to dry and damaged hair by filling the hair with weightless
moisture.
The product has positively charged humectants made from plant and vegetable derived
formulas. The humectants are naturally attracted to the negative/damaged sites of the
hair.
MOISTURE PAC replenishes the hair with moisture molecules from inside out, to
give a more reflective surface. This results in a super glossy shine. MOISTURE PAC
can be used as often as needed. This is because there is no coating, build-up or
flattening of the hair cuticle.
How To Use
Basically I discovered, that for me, it was best to use the MOISTURE PAC once a
week for 20 minutes. I know that the product literature says you can use it as often as
you want to. For me it was just once a week.
I found that this seemed like the perfect solution for my hair. I would do the
treatment on the weekends when I had time to wrap the towel around my head and then hang
out for 20 minutes.
I also found that I got the best results when I used the PAC with heat. This meant a
hot towel wrapped over a shower or plastic cap or under my hood style dryer. This
definitely added to the success potential of the treatment.
It is important to leave the PAC on only 20 minutes. Anything less is not enough to
allow the treatment to penetrate and anything more is overkill.
A Long Relationship
I have been using MOISTURE PAC for close to three months. I try to do the
treatment about once a week, but I dont always make it. Sometimes my hair
doesnt feel like it needs it, so I skip it. I always make sure that I do a MOISTURE
PAC before and after I have a highlighting treatment.
I love this product. Actually, I love this product almost as much as I love the ARTec
Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner. In my opinion it is superior in every way.
I have found that with my long hair I am most comfortable using the larger 14 ounce
size. This guarantees me that I will always have enough to cover my mass of hair.
I can not recommend this product enough to anyone that has dry, chemically treated or
hair that needs to be softened and moisturized.
