Lady Gaga is a force to be reckoned with. Considered by the
majority to be one of the biggest breakout artists of 2009, she not
only knocks it out of the box with her songs, voice and costumes but
she is always providing entertainment to her fans.
In the recent "American Music Awards" the usually platinum hued
star knocked the audience's socks off with her spectacular costumes,
headdress and her voice which some have said could actually break
glass.
Lady Gaga not only puts on an amazing performance, she is one of
the bestselling newcomers of 2009. Lady Gaga's Interscope release
"Fame" has sold more than 1.6 million copies since its release last
October.
The beautiful Lady is expected to receive multiple Grammy
nominations during the 2010 gala. Her "Fame" is a favorite to
receive a nomination for album of the year, and her "Poker Face" is
on the ballots for record and song of the year
Lady Gaga recently made news for her appearance at a Vogue photo
shoot where she won praise from the Vogues editors and photographers
for her willingness to be spontaneous.
Lady Gaga is a huge fan of Ellen Degeneres and has been on her
show a few times since she released her first CD. Ellen also
admires Gaga not only for her voice and performance style but her
willingness to let out her "inner freak".

What's behind Lady Gaga's outrageous fashions both on and off
stage? She told Ellen she had always wanted to be like Boy
George in high school.
Admitting to Ellen that it's all about
the fans, she confessed that her public freakiness, like when she
goes out in public without pants, is all genuine. She's not
faking it.
She explained "I didn't fit in (during) high school, and I felt
like a freak. So I like to create this atmosphere for my fans where
they feel like they have a freak in me to hang out with, and they
don't feel alone," so she's not really dressing up to just get
attention. She's honoring her inner freak.
Gaga also explained "I want my fans to know that it's OK," she
continued. "Sometimes in life you don't always feel like a winner,
but that doesn't mean you're not a winner."
Lady Gaga wrote a song especially for her dad. She said that she
wrote Speechless for her dad to implore him to get surgery
(it worked), and now he's "doing better."
Lady Gaga's Career
Born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta on March 28, 1986, the
American recording artist known as Lady Gaga was signed at the age
of 19 but then quickly dropped by Def Jame Records. During the
same period she was working at interscope Records as a songwriter
for several famous acts including Akon. After hearing Gaga
sing Akon convince the chairman of Interscope to sign Gaga to a
joint deal with the label and Akon's Kon Live Distribution label.
Gaga's debut album The Fame was released in August 2008 and was
instantly a critical and commercial success reaching the top of the
charts in four different countries as well as topping Billboard Top
Electronic Albums in the US.
Gaga has told the media she is inspired by glam rockers such as
David Bowie, Queen, Madonna and Michael Jackson. She has said
that fashion is a key component to her performances and essential to
her songwriting. To date she has sold over 20 million digital
singles and more than four million albums worldwide.

Although Lady Gaga appears in very early images of her career as
a brunette, when she burst into the scene back in 2008 as Lady Gaga
she did so as a white white blonde.
For the most part Lady Gaga depends on a wide range of hair
extensions, wigs and clip-on hair extensions, sometimes combining a
variety of add-on hair pieces to create a spectacular effect.
She has worked with some of the most famous celebrity
hairdressers in the world including Ken Paves (Jessica Simpson,
Jennifer Lopez, Eva Longoria) and Danilo, to name a few.
Gaga has an intense performance, appearance and interview
schedule and required constant hair, make-up and wardrobe
maintenance to keep the fantasy alive for her millions of fans.
Lady Gaga is best friends with celebrity blogger Perez Hilton who
actually went to Heidi Klum's famous Hollywood Halloween party
dressed exactly as Lady Gaga. He made it real and did a great
job from her white white blonde hair to her costume.

If you are aware of Lady Gaga you know she is famous for wearing
her hair shaped into a gigantic side bow angled to one side of her
head.
The Lady Gaga bow has been often copied and there are even
tutorials on the web showing you how to recreate the bowed
hairstyle.
Most believe the famous bow hairstyle was just part of one of
Gaga's ever growing collection of wigs, hair extensions and clip-in
pieces. Gaga has clip-on bangs, ponytails, individual wefts
and full-on wigs. All in white white blonde.

One of the biggest questions which pops up on the web on a
regular basis is whether or not Lady Gaga's current hairstyles are
real or not.
The answer? The wigs are definitely real. As far as
her natural hair? It has been reported to be dark brunette.
It's actually very smart of Lady GaGa to wear wigs and clip-in
extensions because she has so many different costumes that if her
hair had to constantly be coiffed for every performance it would do
irreparable damage to her tresses.

Follow the steps listed below to recreate Lady Gaga's long lush hairstyle
like the one she wore to the November 23, 2009 CD signing party.
Although it looks like Gaga is wearing a long platinum wig with a
side swept forehead fringe.
Gaga definitely looks great as
a platinum blonde.
If you wish to attempt her
hairstyle sans wig follow the steps below:
1. Start by selecting a shampoo and conditioner with a color safe formula
like the Phyto Colored Hair System,
to
preserve any platinum blonde base, highlights or
lowlight hues.
If your hair is chemically
treated or colored,
consider using a color appropriate shampoo like
Rene Furterer Okara
Repairing Shampoo
or select a shampoo that works with your
current texture, type and condition of hair.
Eliminate dry
strands with
J.F. Lazartigue Micro Pearl Shampoo for Dry hair.
2
Apply a rinse out conditioner that works for your hair's normal
texture, type and condition. Consider trying a color co-ordinated
mask such as
Okara Restructuring and Protective Radiance Mask to intensify your existing color. Avoid using the
conditioner on super fine hair or near the roots.
3. Finish with a cool/cold rinse to close the cuticle and help add
natural shine.
4. Towel blot (never rub or rough dry) to remove excess water.
5. Coat damp strands with your favorite customized styling product cocktail
containing styling tools such as a
defrisant, volume
building
mousse, gel or other styling products that work
best with your hair texture and type.
Detangle working slowly from the
ends to the roots. Create desired part. Gaga tends to
wear side or off-center part.

6. Blow dry using a
large round boar's bristle brush (shown to the side -
Conair Round Brush) for strong, lasting support. Direct
the air flow down from the roots towards the end to build in shine
and smooth strands.
7. Use fingers to lightly pick and lift near the roots for desired volume
and lift while using a round brush to lightly roll the ends of the hair under.
8. When hair is 100% dry use a tail comb or brush to create
the desired part.
Separate hair into individual 2" sections
and set on large sized hot rollers, or curl with a large barrel
curling iron to add movement to the strands.
Curling Without Hot Rollers
If curling with a curling iron, after working with each
section, roll the newly formed curl with your fingers up towards
your scalp and pin into place to allow the curl to cool completely.
Work around the entire head until all sections have been curled and
pinned to the scalp. Spritz lightly with a soft hold hairspray.

If curling with hot rollers, let the curlers completely cool before
removing. Once all the rollers have been released, let new curls
dangle free before styling. Spritz lightly with a soft hold
hairspray.
9. Use your fingers and/or a boar's head brush to lightly break up
the curls and arrange into a soft finished cascade of soft
ringlet-like curls which
terminate into a slight curl at the tips.
Apply a small drop of
shine serum
to the tips of your fingers and massage into the palms of your
hands. Lightly brush your serum infused palms over the top of
the finished hairstyle.
If you prefer, use a shine spray product and spray
into the palms of your hands and then glide over finished style.
Another option is to
finish the look with a long lasting
hairspray for a silky shine effect.

Lady Gaga's new album "The Fame Monster" is now out. If you
want to spend some extra cash you can buy the Super Deluxe "The Fame
Monster" Pack which includes, supposedly a lock of Gaga's hair as
well as the definitive "Book of Gaga" which is a highly stylized
collector's edition art table book in a custom slipcase documenting
Gaga's journey into superstardom.
In addition the Fame Monster Pack includes pictorials, pull-out
posters, fanzines, a paper doll collection, 3 D glasses, personal
notes from Gaga and each book in individually numbered.
As you can imagine, the news that Lady Gaga's new Fame Monster
package included a lock of her hair had the media in a frenzy.
Afterall, it's not common for rock stars to give away their hair.
My only question? Will she have enough to go around to her
millions of fans? I guess only time will tell. The other
question? Is it really her hair or hair from her wigs and
extensions?
