Kaley Christine Cuoco born November 30, 1985 gained International acclaim for her current role as Penny on The Big Bang Theory (2007-present). Fans also wanted to know all about Kaley Cuoco hair secrets.
The CBS Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning comedy became the highest rated comedy on US television among adults 18–49 for the 2009–10 season.
Kaley first won the hearts of fans as Bridget Hennessy on the Emmy Award-winning 8 Simple Rules (2002-2005). She later starred as Billie Jenkins on the final season of the supernatural drama series Charmed (2005–2006).
Kaley Cuoco Hair Evolution
Kaley, has also become a media darling and is closely watched for her hair secrets, fashion and beauty trends.
Although Kaley, as Penny, has been blonde throughout the life of the series, her length, texture and hairstyles have transitioned along with the evolution of her character.
Penny's Hair In First Season of Big Bang - 2007
When Kaley was first introduced as Penny during the first season in the Fall of 2007, her baby blonde hair was cut in graduated layers which framed her face and cascaded in sleek panels down below her shoulders.
Penny also had a long side-swept fringe which created a soft veil of hair falling over one eye. It was the perfect sassy hairstyle for the perky new neighbor across the hall.
Penny's Hair In Second Season of Big Bang - 2008
As Penny integrated into the lives of Sheldon, Leonard, Howard and Raj her previous edgy layers grew out. Her hairstyles for the second season encompassed an array of fun filled hair looks which were in keeping with her character's zany personality.
Penny's slowly changing length and hairstyles helped to define her fun-filled laid back personality.
She also went on an official dinner date with Leonard. Although Penny and Leonard went to dinner early in Season One, Penny didn't realize it was a date. Leonard was too afraid to ask her, so he led her to believe it was a group dinner.
Unfortunately Penny's insecurity over her lack of formal education prematurely halted any chance of a romance with Leonard.
Penny's Hair In Third Season of Big Bang - 2009
By the time the third season of Big Bang began, Penny had realized her true feelings for Leonard, who spent several weeks in the North Pole with the rest of the guys.
When Leonard returned he and Penny had their first hook-up. The romance between Leonard and Penny finally gets off the ground.
Penny's hair, which was longer, was styled softer and more tousled which was a perfect reflection of how she had softened in her resolve not to be with Leonard.
She continued to wear a side-swept fringe. Her fringe was styled in a manner which would indicate her long range goal of growing it out along with the rest of her tresses.
In my opinion, one of the best episodes in the third season, is The Adhesive Duck Deficiency. The main storyline involved Penny slipping and falling in her bathtub and dislocating her shoulder.
As a result of her injury, a frazzled Sheldon had to drive Penny to the hospital. Even though his only experience with driving had been with a simulated driving program, he made a special effort for Penny.
Her hairstyle during the Duck Deficiency episode was a high ponytail with her historic side-swept fringe pulled up and back from her hairline. She had a few long fringe tendrils framing either side of her face. The tousled hairdo was perfect for the plotline.
Penny's Hair In Fourth Season of Big Bang - 2010
As the fourth season of Big Bang began, it's was obvious Penny's hair had grown down to the middle of her back. The previous side-swept fringe is gone. Not only did Penny grow out her initial layers, she also grew out her bangs.
Even though Leonard and Penny broke up in the second half of Season Three because he told her he loved her, Penny is still an integral part of the gang and fits right in.
Her hair appears even lighter at the beginning of the Fourth Season which looks great with Kaley's skin tone and eyes.
As Penny's hair continues to grow longer, she experiments with side braids, tousled ponytails and top knots.
I am always impressed how the set hairstylists keep the core essence of Penny with her hair color and styles. Her hair has transitioned seamlessly from season to season along with her character maturity.
It would totally out of character for Penny to suddenly appear as a brunette or redhead. Her personality is tied to being the lovable, but somewhat ditzy blonde.
Penny's Hair In Fifth Season of Big Bang - 2011
As the fifth season of The Big Bang Theory began, Leonard and Penny, who reunited in the second half of Season Four, are a definite couple.
Although they still struggle with their basic incompatibilities in brain power, career paths and lifestyles, their love for each other is obvious. They work hard to compromise due to the feelings for each other.
Penny's hair at the beginning of the fifth season appears to be the longest it's even been at any previous time. Her hair is also beautifully highlighted with icy platinum blonde hues.
Throughout the season as Penny struggles to understand her level of true commitment to Leonard, her hair reflects her thought process.
She wears her beautiful shiny blonde tresses pulled up in a variety of ponytails, messy twists and buns.
As always, Penny's hair throughout the entire season looks sexy, sassy and perfectly styled for her character's storylines.
Penny's Hair In Sixth Season of Big Bang - 2012
As the sixth season of Big Bang began it seems Penny has decided to remain completely committed to her relationship with Leonard.
The underlying tension in the previous seasons between the couple have become much less obvious.
Both Leonard and Penny seem much more relaxed and comfortable with their feelings for each other.
As a result, Penny's hair, while still long, blonde and beautiful, appears to be styled more casually than before.
Although she still pulls out the stops when she dresses up for a special event, her basic hairstyle for the season has been soft, playful and casual. The big question mark currently is where Leonard and Penny's relationship is going for the future.
Will Leonard and Penny take the next step in their relationship? Or will they move in together, get engaged or finally call it quits?
It's hard to imagine fans loving a big break-up. Leonard and Penny belong together.
Of course with a change in the relationship status, there is always an opportunity for Penny's hair to evolve in new directions. A bad break-up might result in her going with a radical new haircut, hair color or style.
An engagement might result in more polished hair with eye towards a future bridal hairstyle.
Anything is possible. At this point we'll all just have to wait and see how Penny's hair and relationship with Leonard continue to evolve in the future.
I just hope that we have many more years of the show down the road.
