There's no question Angelina Jolie continues to dominate the hair, beauty and fashion media due to her spectacular star quality. Whether you're a fan of Angelina's acting or her lifestyle doesn't really matter.
If you love her constantly changing hair hues, lengths, textures and hairstyles you are in good company. The beautiful brunette Gemini who is known as much for her growing family and beau as she is for her acting roles continues to make news in all areas of her life.
Angie, like many top celebrities, has some of the most talented hairdressers on her speed dial for her Red Carpet hair needs. For her various film roles Angelina depends on the on-set hairdressers to transform her into the various characters she plays.
Although she works with more than one due to her frequent travel schedule, Angelina is known to favor stylist David Babaii for many of her hairstyling needs.
David loves to create "bohemian looks" on the stunning brunette. He also loves to style her long tresses in lush and sensual styles featuring a variety of waves from barely there like she wore to the LA Premiere of 'Inglourious Basterds' to tighter, more well formed spiral waves she has worn at other events.
Hairstyle: Simple, Sophisticated Long Barely There Waves.
One ongoing question about Angelina is whether or not she utilizes any type of wigs or add-on hair for her various hairstyles. Looking closely at her photo above it doesn't appear obvious she had add-on strands but with the options available in today's add-on hair market it's often hard to tell. In this case I would guess Angie is wearing all her own hair.
Hairstyle Color: Light Golden Toast, Light Chocolate Brown
Hairstyle Highlights/Lowlights: Light Golden Brown Highlights, Darker Chocolate Lowlights
Texture: Angelina appears to have medium thick hair in excellent shape with either natural bend or natural waves. Her hair is usually style with lots of body and some volume built in around the crown.
Fringe: Angelina's long lush hairstyle was fringe free. Her hair was worn brushed off her gorgeous face with her long tresses cascading from a sleek deep side part.
Face Shape: Angie's face shape is a blend of oval and square. She has extremely well defined cheekbones which slope into a squared off jaw with a slightly square shaped chin.
Hairstyle Works Best: Angie's hairstyle works best for hair which is shoulder length or longer that are all one length or with subtle layers. The best texture for this hairstyle is hair with some bend, natural waves or light curls.
Hair Tools Required: Large barrel curling iron or hot rollers, 100% boar bristle brush, long tail comb, bobby pins, styling spray and/or cream, sculpting hairspray, shine spray and/or serum drops.
To add fullness and length you may wish to play with clip-in hair extensions.
Fashion Trending Hairstyles
Angelina wears her hair in the latest hairstyles while setting trends. When her fans see her latest hairstyles they are quick to copy her stunning tresses. Even better, Angelina wears her hair in styles which work with the event she is attending and complementing her face shape and fashions.
Personally I think Angelina looks gorgeous with longer tresses but she appears to prefer a side-swept bang which offsets her well formed eyebrows and beautiful eyes.
How To Recreate Angelina's Wavy Hairstyle
To copy Angelina's slightly wavy hairstyle follow the simple steps listed below:
1. Start with either freshly cleansed and completely dry hair or with day old hair with a cream or spray designed to help with the creation of soft hair waves.
Note: If you shampoo your hair before styling be sure to use products for your hair type (fine/thin, medium, thick, very thick), texture (straight, wavy, curly, kinky) and current condition (normal, damaged, extremely damaged).
2. If you wish to copy Angelina's look completely, create a side part on either side of your hairline using a long tail comb. If you prefer you can copy Angie's hairstyle with a fringe or center part although it will not look exactly the same.
After prepping hair with spray or similar, wrap around a large barrel curling iron (or large hot rollers) for a few seconds to avoid burning or damaging strands. Angie's hairdresser says "hold the iron until you feel the heat coming off of the hair."
5. After creating the hot curl and removing the iron, re-roll curl around fingers to recreate the curl. Pin to the scalp.
6. When all the sections of hair have been completely ironed, reformed and pinned, spritz the entire head lightly with a setting or styling spray.
7. When hair is completely dry and cool, unpin each curl.
Spray well and then smooth back and over to the opposite side of the head from the part.
9. Rake through the remaining hair with your fingers to arrange hair into sexy waves just like Angie.
10. For Angelina's brilliant shine add a few drops of shine serum, spray or shine enhancing hairspray to the palms of your hands and then wipe lightly over the top of your tresses.
Note: If the waves are too well formed use a 100% boar bristle brush to break up the waves a bit and make them softer. Remember the smaller the curling iron barrel, the tighter the resulting curls and waves.
This hairstyle is gorgeous and can be worn for any Holiday or Party Hair event ranging from a formal or semi-formal dinner or a special formal dance or Prom.
This is a classic hairstyle which never goes out of style. To amp up the look even more add a bejewelled hairpin clip on one side of the hairline.
Angelina Jolie is a talented, wholesome star who loves children, which explains her large family.
What's next for this gorgeous brunette? Angie was recently spotted along the Hudson River continuing to shoot scenes for her upcoming spy thriller 'Salt' and causing controversy by wearing a large fur hat guaranteed to give PETA fits.
Will Angie care? Probably not but it's great fodder for the tabloids and of course she looked spectacular.
