Introduction
Debi Mazar gets around. Not only does she pop into HBO's Entourage from time to time as the scary but hilarious press agent for Vince, her face shows up on a number of great shows on the other networks. Note: For more hairstyle details of the women on Entourage check out Celebrity Women's Hairstyles - Women Of Entourage - How To Flaunt Their Styles Take ABC for instance. Debi appeared on the fun Castle series as Paula Haas, Castle's (Nathan Fillion) book agent. She was perfect for the part. She was aggressive and determined to sell mystery writer Rick Castle on a new deal. The problem? It would require Castle to stop working with Kate Beckett (Stana Katic). The episode, "When the Bough Breaks" was great not only because Debi appeared, in a sassy ponytail, but because for fans of the show it focused on the growing feelings Castle had for his time with Beckett and his fun working with the NYPD. I am a Castle fan because I have always been a Nathan Fillion fan since his days as Caleb (5 episodes) on "Buffy The Vampire Slayer". And yes, of course, I watched him on the prior "Two Guys, A Girl And A Pizza Place" as Johnny Donnelly (60 episodes).
Flaunting Debi Mazur's HairstyleImagine my excitement when I saw Debi Mazar with a fabulous ponytail guest starring as Castle's agent. One of the reasons I watch Debi, besides the fact I think she's funny and a good actress, is that she seems to always have great hairstyles. Her ponytail on Castle was no exception.
As a general observation, Debi appears to wear her hair pulled off her face. I think she looks fabulous in bangs, which we wore at one point on her appearance in ABC's "Dancing With The Stars - Season 9." I often forget that Debi is very well rounded and spent some of her time in Hollywood doing make-up. No wonder hers always looks flawless. One of Debi's best features besides her raven black tresses is her gorgeous sky blue eyes which are well framed by her dark eyebrows and lashes. Her Castle ponytail appeared, at least in my opinion, to be a clip-on because when not performing, Debi's hair does not appear to be as long as it would extend if removed from the ponytail. Of course I could be wrong about it not being all her hair, but will we ever know for sure? Regardless, Debi's ponytail was positioned slightly under her crown which gave her tail lots of play. To create a more dramatic pony, the actress had a very tight and sleek hairline as a result of the center part. Both sides of her head were pulled very tightly back which make the full and flipped ponytail even more dramatic. How To Get Her Edgy Ponytail
Complete the following steps listed below to copy and flaunt Debi's pony hairstyle: Step 1: Shampoo and condition your hair with your normal products designed for your current hair type, texture and condition. Note: Keep in mind this hairstyle often works best with aged hair if you prefer not to cleanse your strands first. Step 2: Towel blot strands. Do not rub wet hair which is more fragile and can break. Detangle strands from the ends to the roots. Step 3: Apply your favorite texture enhancing mousse, styling cream or similar styling product. Distribute from the top of the ears to the ends. Distribute well. If you prefer, mix with a good leave-in conditioner for super shine and softness. To protect against blow drying heat and add body distribute a leave-in conditioner, mousse or gel from the top of the ears to the ends. Distribute well. Step 4: Use a paddle or round boar's bristle brush with a blow dryer to dry hair straight and remove any ridges, especially along the hairline or top of the head.
Step 5: When hair is almost dry, you may optionally flip head over at the waist and direct a round boar bristle brush through underneath hair to add volume and super-smoothness. If you have a cool/cold shot finish with a last blast of cool air to seal cuticles. Flip head right side up. Note: Not all hair experts agree with flipping head over at the waist due to higher risk of tangling from reversing hair direction. Step 6: For a super sleek ponytail like Debi's use a boar's bristle brush to direct hair off the face using fingers to smooth and tighten. Pull hair towards the crown. Create the base of the pony using a hair friendly bungee, Blax or similar elastic bang. Step 7: Once you have created the base of the pony smooth the tail section with your fingers or a brush. If you wish to add waves or curls to the tail section, use a curling iron to create texture. Keep in mind the size of the barrel of the curling iron impacts the resulting size of the curls created. The smaller the barrel of the iron, the smaller the curl. Another option is to separate the pony section of the hair into 2 inch sections and roll them on hot rollers. Allow the curlers to completely cool, remove the rollers and then use a fingers to arrange curls.
Step 8: Spray the finished pony with a good holding hairspray Hairspray to try: PhytoPro - Instant Hold Spray #15). Step 9: Apply a tiny drop of shine serum, drops or spray into the palms of your hands. Lightly brush the palms over the top of your style and you are ready to rock. Shine products to try: Phyto - PhytoLisse (Formerly Phytodefrisant RelaxSerum) Step 10: If desired, add barrettes, headbands or other hair clips. Debi is a fan of barrettes which match the color her her hair. If you wish to hold the top of the hair extra tight you can use sleeper clips, combs or small barrettes in the same color as your hair to provide extra hold. Optional Ponytail HairstylesA basic ponytail can be styled to achieve a wide range of looks. A ponytail can be worn with or without a forehead fringe. The top section of hair behind the hairline can be backcombed for a full look or smoothed down into a very sleek Of course there is also the option to create a fringe or hairline bump for a completely different look.
The base of the ponytail can be created at a number of different points along the head ranging from a few inches below the hairline to nestled at the nape of the neck. Ponytails can also be combined with a variety of hair parts from a precision perfect center part to a variety of side parts. Clip-in Ponytail OptionsIf you want a quick ponytail but your own hair is not thick enough or long enough you can supplement with a quick clip-on pony or you can add individual sections of hair to incorporate for added thickness to your own hair. The clip-on hair market has continually advanced over the years. There are a wide range of amazing clip-in pony or clip-in hair options in a dizzying array of colors and hues. If you prefer to wear a fringe with your ponytail there are also amazing clip-in bang options to consider.
