A 30-second advertisement - which will premiere
during the fourth quarter of the American football game
between the New England Patriots and New York Giants -
will include old footage of Madonna, Shakira and Marilyn
interwoven in a pop art style montage.
The phrases "Some girls can't wait", "To make life
happen" and "Their hair tells their story" flash up on
screen accompanied by Madonna's hit song 'Ray of Light'
before the commercial ends with the words "Make you hair
happen."
However, while Madonna was paid a huge £10 million
for her involvement, Shakira only pocketed $2.5 million.
Stan Cook, vice president of US hair care operations
at Unilever, who own Sunsilk, said: "We're proud to
unveil a powerful global campaign that features three
truly inspirational icons. "They are celebrated
not only for their accomplishments, but for living with
passion and urgency, as well as having the confidence to
take leaps of faith with their lives and their looks.
Our hope is to inspire a new generation of women to do
the same."
Sunsilk previously paid British pop group Girls Aloud
£1.25 million to front their UK campaign.

Los Angeles Premiere Of Fool's Gold Whips Up
Celebrity Hairstyles
The wind was whipping away
and grabbed ahold of Kate Hudson's beautiful coiffed
hairstyle turning it into an instant version of an Elvis
quiff. After the wind created an on-the-fly quiff
for Kate, it took on Donald Sutherland and Matthew
McConaughey's lady. Camilla Alves struggled with
the wind whipping at her skirt. All in all, the
hairstyles for the premiere could be described as
wind-swept.

Men: Grow Your Beards Now To Win An Ernest
Hemingway Look-a-like Contest
MichiganLive.com featured a
story on February 2, 2008 about an upcoming Ernest
Hemingway contest in Saginaw, Michigan which requires
"older, stocky men with a full beard" according to Chris
Tilderington. The winner will be announced on
Tuesday, April 29, 2008 and will win $150.00. The
community is having a Hemingway festival complete with a
hairy beard winner.
In Saginaw's version of
finding an Ernest Hemingway wannabe, the contestants are
being encouraged to wear safari outfits, khakis and
turtleneck sweaters. The look-alike-contest
is open to anyone in Michigan.
The Hemingway contest is
part of the Great Michigan Read created by the Michigan
Humanities Council's celebration of Hemingway's work.
Hemingway's book "The Nick Adams Stories," a collection
of short stories he penned as a result of his boyhood
summers spent in northern Michigan will be featured.
For the serious side in Saginaw, high school students
in nine mid-Michigan counties will participate in a
Hemingway Writing Contest, with the winners announced at
Saginaw's Temple Theatre on April 29.
Valerie Hemingway, the author of ''Running With the
Bulls: My Life With the Hemingways,'' will open the
evening with a talk.
Valerie Hemingway and members from Tri-City community
theaters will pick the winners that night, with $150
going to first place, $100 to second place and $50 to
third place along with other northern Michigan or
fishing-related prizes. There is an entry fee of $10,
with the registration deadline Tuesday, April 15. All
entrants will receive a special T-shirt.
''And we are asking them to come early (April 29) to
work the crowd and act as ushers if they wish,'' says
Tiderington.
For an entry form and complete set of rules, log on
to
www.saginawlibrary.org and look for the Great
