Speed Ahead: Paul Mitchell Partner School Program Makes
Franchise Times' Fast 55 List
BEVERLY
HILLS, Calif. - Once again, Paul Mitchell Schools prove
themselves to be top of the class. Recently Franchise
Times magazine announced their long-awaited third annual
Fast 55, a list of the fastest-growing young franchises
in the United States. Not only did the Paul Mitchell Partner
School program make the list, but it is ranked in the top
10.
Paul
Mitchell Advanced Education, LLC is listed as number seven among
all young franchises across the country. While the businesses
in the Fast 55 include a wide range of industries including
fitness centers, dry cleaners and coffee shops, the Paul
Mitchell Partner School franchise is the only one in the field
of cosmetology.
According to Winn Claybaugh, Dean and Cofounder of Paul Mitchell Schools,
"With the Paul Mitchell name and the brilliant team behind our
Paul Mitchell Schools, I sort of expect to receive accolades
from within the beauty industry. But being recognized outside of
our industry by the business and franchise world was not even on
my radar. Think of it -- our schools are being acknowledged as a
legitimate and profitable business model! That gives me hope not
only for the Paul Mitchell company, but also for the entire
beauty industry."
There are currently 69 Paul Mitchell The Schools and Paul
Mitchell Partner Schools across the country. For more

CoolGlide Laser Treatments For Hair Reduction Become More
Popular
Aesthetic laser systems continue to
grow in popularity with men and women for Permanent Hair
Reduction. Laser technology continues to improve
with lots of new advancements. Physicians can
provide permanent hair reduction for all skin types
including tanned patients. It is important to note
that the popular CoolGlide laser is an FDA cleared
non-invasive laser tool that offers Permanent Hair
Reduction. The FDA defines permanent hair
reduction as the long term, stable reduction in the
number of hair that re-grow after a specific treatment
regime is completed.
What does this mean? It means
that some patients may require multiple treatments for
hair to be considered permanent reduced.
This point is very
important to understand. Why? Human hair
goes through 3 stages of development. Typically in the
Anagen Stage, hair will respond more effectively to
laser hair reduction treatment.
At any given time, only one third of human hair is in
the anagen stage. For this reason, it is necessary
to treat an area targeted for hair reduction at least
three times with the laser treatments spaced
approximately 6 weeks apart in order to see the best and
longest lasting results.
Darker hair historically responds better to laser hair
reduction, but both dark and light hair may need up to
five treatments for maximum response and the best
long-term results.
Patients of laser
hair reduction need to understand also that there is
often no immediate change with regard to hair reduction
results. The skin may redden slightly or potentially
develop a small crust that will eventually peel.
It is important to be patient and not worry if obvious
changes are not happening immediately after the first
laser treatment.
The laser
generates intense, long-pulsed light through an
actively-cooled hand piece which disables unwanted
pigmented hair follicles which impairs their future
growth. The laser's cold piece is placed gently on
the skin and glides along as pulses of light are
delivered from the laser. When the light
penetrates the skin, it selectively damages the root of
the unwanted hair.
The laser may also
leave small red marks on the surface of your skin. The
marks are temporary and will clear up in a few days. The
hair that has been destroyed will not start to fall out
for approximately 2-3 weeks after treatment. Many
times the hair will actually get darker and thicker just
before it starts to fall out. The upper lip and
chin areas can be treated by the lasers in approximately
5 minutes or so. Underarm areas can take up to 20
minutes. Legs and backs may take much longer
depending on the amount of hair that needs to be
reduced. Follow-up treatments may take much less
time and are thus less expensive.
The CoolGlide laser generally does not hurt but has a
mild sting. It is called the CoolGlide because of
its special cooling tip. The laser can also easily
and effectively disable hundreds of hair follicles in
less than one second while promising long-lasting
results.
No local anesthesia or pain medication is typically
required. Some patients prefer a topical anesthetic when
sensitive areas are treated.
How much do laser treatments cost? It depends
on the area of the country where you are having the
treatments. If you happen to live in a large
metropolitan area, do cost shopping. The new
plastic physicians who specialize in "injectibles" only
often offer deals on laser treatments. Keep in
mind that you may need 3-5 treatments for any one area
for reduction and it is possible that hair will grow
back over time, although usually in a much reduced form.
Treatments may be combined to reduce costs and "package
deals" may be available where you pay in advance for a
series of laser treatments. Upper lips may cost
approximately $50 but require up to 5 treatments.
Be sure to ask detailed questions before proceeding.
