Contest Winners Get Their
Days in the Sun: Paul Mitchell Gives Away
Free Trips to Hawaii
Sometimes, the luck of the draw can actually work in
our favor. At least, Paul Mitchell customer
Darlene Lund of Illinois can attest to this.
She recently spent a weekend in Waikiki, as the grand-prize
winner of the Paul Mitchell Win a Trip
to Hawaii contest, which ran last spring. Both
Lund and her stylist, Michelle Amidon
of Hairdoos Salon in Huntly, IL,
were allowed to bring one guest each to enjoy a trip to Waikiki,
Hawaii, where they had VIP access to watch the Paul Mitchell
Best of the Beach pro beach volleyball tournament on October
1-2, 2005.
Lund and Amidon were not the only lucky ones in this fortunate
series of events. The salon's
owners, Sheila Cramer and
Janie Bavido, also found themselves quite lucky.
The two owners met Paul Mitchell's
founder and CEO John Paul DeJoria last August at A
Signature Gathering, the company's annual professional event
in Las Vegas. Although the contest stipulated that only
the client, the stylist, and one guest each were official
winners of the trip, John Paul
spontaneously offered to extend the same trip package to the
salon owners and their guests as well, in an
unprompted display of generosity. Of course, Cramer and
Bavido were delighted to join their stylist and customer on this
amazing trip, making the weekend a great Paul Mitchell
celebration with eight expense-paid guests in total!
The contest winners enjoyed intense entertainment during their
Hawaii stay, as they watched the best athletes in professional
volleyball battle it out for the Paul Mitchell "Best of the
Beach" title on Queens Surf Beach in Honolulu. The two-day
event featured the Top 8 teams on men's women's side, with
$200,000 at stake.
Paul Mitchell paid for three nights stay in Waikiki, plus
airfare, VIP access to the Paul Mitchell Best of the Beach
tournament, and VIP gift bags. The contest promotion ran
in May and June of 2005, and was advertised on Paul Mitchell
packaging in salons, as well as on
www.paulmitchell.com.
The winning entry was drawn randomly by John Paul DeJoria.
